Decent Japanese food. The poke bowel was excellent! I was a little disappointed with the roll as the rice looked and tasted like it came out of a machine. I prefer hand made rolls as the rice tastes much better. Very good sashimi selection and excellent sake selection. Reasonable place to go for Japanese food in Birmingham.

We had such a lovely time! Food and atmosphere was 12/10 Taylor is such a great bartender and I didn’t get the name of the wonderful woman who also helped us but she’s an amazing bartender! The zen garden is the perfect cocktail for a refreshing touch to your night! We will be making it our regular date night hot spot!

Great atmosphere, clean, very friendly, great food, good prices, parking lot half block away.I don't do much fish and I'm allergic to shellfish, so I was a little apprehensive in going. Even with my seafood-avoidance nature, I was able to find a few items to choose from. The Thai salad with grilled chicken was awesome. I don't do hot (a little us ok) and the waitress said it was hot to some people and not too hot to others. I found it about perfect...a little tingly, but not hot. Daughter said sushi was very good...8/10.Wife said noodle bowl was pretty good/ok flavor.Appetizers: Momos pork dumpling was very good, (a little spicy) and the pork skewer was awesome. Table next to us got the fried green beans and they looked awesome (waitress said they were too)..

Food wuality good. However below avg service and long wait for food. Drink was not what i ordered. Waiter blamed on bartender but never uttered any apology. Waited 45 min and asked for update on food timing. Was told couldn’t tell how much longer but we were 2nd ticket in line but again no acknowledgment that any apology needed. After challenging waiter on that, his attitude got worse for rest of night.

Never disappoints! Magic City Roll is my favorite but there’s so many other yummy options. Special mention for the Momos too!!

My wife and I went to bamboo on 2nd for the first time today, but I can say (with a full belly) that it won't be the last time.Just a few minutes away from the BJCC, and all of that jazz in North Birmingham lies an unsuspecting jewel, nestled comfortably on Second Ave N. The gigantic orange front door leads you into simple place full of awe, wonder and amazing food.We started things off with an order of pork momos, a Nepalese dumpling, which were devine; I could have easily made a meal out of a whole stack of those bad boys. We both opted for the Ramen bowl as well. My wife added chicken to hers, and I went with the pork belly. The presentation of the ramen was what you might expect (two soft boiled egg halves, and meat nested on the top). The carrots, scallions and cilantro were scattered on top of the amazing broth and wheat noodles. The serving size of the ramen seemed close to a half-gallon so you're really getting your money's worth if you go that route. The soup was amazing, the noodles were perfect and the pork belly in my dish was delectable. We also ordered a couple of rolls; the "Crunchy California" and "Wham B'Ham." The Crunchy California was a bit of a twist on a typical California roll, but may be the best one I've ever had. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it, other than the crab and cream cheese were mixed together and the outside was speckled with bits of tempura batter. It was amazing though. The Wham B'ham was similar, but instead of crab, there was a fried shrimp tucked into the roll and a piece of seared salmon on top, drizzled with eel sauce and a spot of Wasabi. It was also delicious. Our server was nice, and kept us well-stocked on drinks, sauces and everything you'd expect. A well-groomed, mustachioed gentlemen visited my wife and I on more than one occasion and served as a kind of sherpa on our Asian-infused journey up their food mountain; offering some advice for the next time we visited.All-in-all, this trip was more than I expected it to be, and the experience was far better than some others I've had at other Birmingham restaurants. You should definitely stop by.

Hands down, the best Asian dining in Birmingham. Friendly and knowledgeable servers in a tastefully appointed and energetic atmosphere. We've tried multiple items from an extensive menu and all were fantastic. Definitely a family favorite!

Went in on a Saturday night with a group of 4, was told there was a 2 hour wait. No problem, however, the Host told us we were OK to eat at the bar but there were only 3 seats available. We were willing to share. Once seated the bartender took 15 minutes to take our drink order then refused to serve us because there were 4 of us and 3 seats. We tried to explain that the host offered this option to us, and after an argument between the two of them she came back to us and just said “go ahead” and stared at us. I don’t know if the food is good or not, just an absolute terrible experience on a beautiful night with a babysitter and a few hours.

Awesome sushi and ramen, very cool vibes, great service. It fills up quick so I recommend getting in early if you don’t want to wait.

I love everything about this place. The owners are nice and friendly, the wait staff are always on point, the bartenders make perfect drinks, and, of course, the food is incredible. We love the atmosphere. It’s a perfect place for a date night AND for families! Bamboo is definitely one of our favorite places in Bham.
