Excellent Sour. The burger was good, and the Pimento cheese was awesome. We'll be back.
I've never been to this resturant before! My boss took me there for lunch. The restaurant is huge on the inside! It has that warehouse feel type of setup! Also, there is plenty of outdoor seating! But what really caught my attention was the taste of that dang ole cheeseburger! ????Yes, the cheeseburger!! OMG! The beef, the beef, the beef ?? was awesome!!! The prices?? are very reasonable and the customer service is great! ?? I'm not a beer drinker, ??but I can tell you that this is the spot if you want one! ? This is truly a hidden gem that is tucked away near Sloss Furnace!!! ??Go find it!!?
I am not easily impressed with food in general. My wife says I say everything is pretty much ok or just good. I was expecting to be let down by the back forty burger after reading all of the great reviews but I was not disappointed in the least. This is right up there in my list of best burgers I’ve ever had. Like I said, I’m not easily impressed but I left quite impressed. The burger was paired with fries that were equally as delicious. Do yourself a favor and get here and make sure you order the back forty burger. I am not into the whole brewery thing at all but they offer a really nice area to eat outside too!
This place may have a limited menu and no beer on Tap for gluten free but they took good care of me anyway.To the girl and guy who I met eating there burgers and fries the suggestions were spot on delicious. Thanks for the heads up you rock.I got the kale Salad that had kale, cabbage, peanuts and some sprinkled cheese on top. It was very good and a healthy option.Next, I tried the grilled chicken sandwich without the bun. As you can see from the pics it looks delicious and was spot on. The sauce had a kick to it too.What I recommend this restaurant yes. Do they need more options like gluten-free buns or a dedicated frier for fries yes. If you are highly allergic/ celiac with epi pen not a good choice.They staff were super friendly and cool about making sure my food came out with no problems.
I was passing through the area and did a quick search for breweries and this was the lucky winner. Actually, I was the lucky winner because this place was fantastic. Upon arrival, the expansive patio is impossible to miss. With games, rocking chairs, umbrellas, there's something for everyone. The inside is just as big with a long list of beers. The four I got in my flight were delicious. I split a pizza with my friend and it was also delicious. I regretted splitting it! Would definitely return to this place and recommend others!
The best hamburger in all ofBirmingham. And some great beer well. Come for a quick lunch. Or to hang out on a Saturday afternoon.

One of the largest breweries I've ever been in. Truck stop honey is a great beer. Overall the beers here are quite good. Also had the pizza it was good. Very good brewery
Updated March 2022Wow this place is really busy. Im happy to see a successful business. We went on a sunny Saturday and found the beer line about 20 minutes long. A little long for me. We also had lunch here and they have curated some good choices. The grilled chicken sandwich was delicious and HUGE. French fries were perfect, crispy, salty and perfectly cooked they complimented my sandwich. The grilled catfish sandwich is rumored to be good as well. If youre in town, and like good beer I would definitely recommend a visit to this place. I will certainly be going back!Urban CowgillMarch 2022We dropped in on a Friday afternoon and found Back Forty very laid back. The facility just opened in July 2018 and it still sparkles. Service was good and they also have tasty food for good beer. Their selection of brews is is not large but how many do you really need? They had pale ales and double IPAs. I spoke with the beertender and she said they change up the beers frequently. We had the naked pig pale ale which was delicious. We also tasted about six others to make our selection. Try the fried to order chili lime skins! Perfect with a brew.The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Bathrooms were clean and functional. We will likely be back!!Urban CowgillOct 2018
