10/10 recommend. It was amazing!

The food and service was outstanding. However, the menu prices on this site does NOT reflect today's prices. I had the Osso Bucco and expected to pay $29. The actual price was $48. Just budget accordingly.I was pleased to see that the dish was served with a marrow spoon ... except the spoon was more like a small soup spoon.  I expected a restaurant of this caliber to have real marrow spoons - Amazon offers many. When ordering, I asked the waiter what came with the Osso Bucco and was told mediterranean vegetables and gnocchi. Fine. However, instead of gnocchi, the waiter served Italian (cubed) potatoes in a meat sauce. It was good, just not gnocchi !!I was in a party of 20 diners, and chose not to complaine. Again, everything was good, just not what I expected.

So disappointing compounded by excessive costs. I had the chef special, Veal Osso Bucco, which was almost not chewable. Osso bucco is my go to meal where available. It should be fall-off-the-bone prepared - this was far from it. It seemed the bone was pushed into the veal, but I couldn’t tell because the lighting was so low. Our table of six had to use cell phone torches to read the menu, let alone being able to adequately see and derive the pleasure of seeing our meals. I would describe my meal selection as a mishmash that I chose not to finish. The salad dressing on the accompanying salad was off-putting. In general, my rule-of-thumb was proven true: Extensive menus which Amore has, usually results in a below-average dining experience.

The food was fantastic and I loved the Pear Martini. Unfortunately, the waiter ruined our experience. He kept making comments about my fiancé’s eating habits, presumably because of my fiancé’s weight. He said things like, “I knew you’d order that, it comes with the most food”, “I know you can eat all that”, “Do you want me to take the bread? Oh wait no, big guy over here needs the bread”, “The other people are gone in here, you can scoot the table out and EAT”. Literally every time he came to the table, he had something to say. It was totally uncalled for. My fiancé didn’t finish eating his dinner because he’d lost his appetite from the awful comments the waiter was making. We wanted to love this place, but we won’t be back.

Highly recommend. We were late for our reservation and literally their kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. there policy is if you're not there by at least 845 it will be canceled We got there at 855..which as a business owner myself I understand policy. They made an exception and it was our anniversary ??. Food was excellent, the atmosphere, service and our waiter Chase was phenomenal. I will definitely be back and tell everyone I know. Thanks

Great service is so rare these days. The service at Amore was fantastic. Everyone was very nice and professional. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The Veal Piccata was probably the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommend Amore!

The attention to detail and service are unmatched. Quality, quality, quality.

This restaurant was suggested by a friend, he spoke highly of the establishment and the food. Let me start by saying our waiter was fantastic, attentive, no issues with the service. However, the food was not equal to the price. The appetizer was by far the best dish, calamari. But at $24, it should be the best calamari I've ever had, but sadly it ranked as high as calamari at half that cost. My wife ordered Seaford Risotto, which was $61. It contained, 1 shrimp, 1 piece of unidentifiable fish and lots of sausage. I would have thought Seafood implied more food from the sea. My meal was black grouper which was quite tasty and was plated with 2 shrimp, which was more than the seafood risotto. It also came with a side dish of mostly tasteless pasta. I will say that the drinks were good and priced equivalent to the type of restaurant. Overall a very expensive and mostly disappointing evening. But as I stated in the beginning, our waiter was wonderful.

I wish this review could be more positive. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and we would like to drive business in their direction. However, although some of the dishes were delicious, and portions were generous, some were well below expectations for a restaurant where you can easily spend $100 per person. When we spend this much on a dinner we truly expect to find exceptional, inventive food. Unfortunately, most of our dishes were pretty run-of-the-mill. They don't show the menu online and the fare does not match the prices. Had we seen the menu in advance we would have visited another of Birmingham's fine Italian restaurants.

food was phenomenal hospitality was top notch and very accommodating for any special occasions. from desserts to pictures to the drinks it was a great evening and well worth the price for an elegant evening
