Picaro serves high-quality food at an appropriate price point.
Was expecting the "typical" Mexican menu, not the case, everything I tasted and saw is an orginal spin on authentic Mexican food. Very friendly staff as well.
Truthfully, I keep coming back for their unique tequilla cocktails. Best, homemade nacho's - nothing like them in the city. Served with "so fresh!" guacamole and in-house made hot sauce. Every bit of the tacos is a bit of taste heaven. Only suggestion would be to have servers clear off used dishes/glasses during the meal.
The food is a little bland for charging so much. Very little food for the money. I was extremely disappointed.
Was a bit disappointed that really there were just tacos on the menu. That's basically it. Expensive tacos. Flavourful but just expensive tacos. Really nice staff tho that brought water to our table and when she poured water into the hot glass and it broke spilling water over a couple people. I thought maybe a free appetizer for the wet peoples trouble, but nope.
Innovative tacos and appies, and an extensive tequila selection.
I love their date night deal! Tacos are okay; it's their dessert you would want to die for! So sad you can‘t order Churros to go.
Picaro has definitely changed from our last visit. The fish taco had no taste at all and our taco chips were overcooked. The table next to us could not eat the churros as they were extremely salty. We did not order them based on that because the Chef said that the batter was that way. Hoping they go back to their incredible taco style of cooking in the future.
My son and I stopped in Saskatoon JUST to eat here. We had been a few years back and LOVED the food. Seems that things have changed quite a bit. The street corn is no-longer fresh on the cob as it was before. Seemed not so fresh (likely frozen corn). Tacos were under seasoned and the churros were UNBELIEVEABLY salty. Wondering if this was a new chef.? This place definitely lost it's luster for us. I hope this was just an off night. We were really looking forward to great Mexican food tonight. Wait staff were lovely though!
Underwhelming birthday meal. We had an unfortunate series of mix ups- they had run out of papaya salad and we weren't informed until our meal was almost over and we were still waiting for it. There was also a mix up with half our order, as it never came either and had to be refired after we had finished our first plates of tacos. Friendly staff, but unfortunate there were a handful of misses that took away from the evening. The street corn would be awesome if it was charred and spicy- as is was very bland, not worth it. We were big fans of the pico fries. Creamsicle cocktail was phenomenal, although also came with a wait when they were out of coconut cream. Fish tacos were our favourite by far. Overall, we must have just had an off experience. Hopefully next time will be better! (Highly recommend the $100 giftcard from Costco for $80).
