Arrogante serveuses/go study and learn some customer service before start to deal with public-- je me sens mal pour les propriétaires.Food 4/5Price 3/5Service 2/5Not recommended to dine in! Take out better!
Friendly, tasty and clean.
Two of us had an outstanding dinner at Banh Thai. We had chicken pad Thai and shrimp salade de mangue, with extra peanuts. The pad Thai was delicious and loaded with tasty and tender chicken. The sauce was delicately flavoured and not overpowering like at many other Thai restaurants. The salad de mangue was just as good. It had shrimp, red peppers, cilantro and finely sliced carrots and mangoes over a bed of crisp lettuce. It was also too much food for us. We might order the salad de mangue appetizer next time. We highly recommend Banh Thai.
So first off. Do not trust any review here, this place is not worth going to.The service and staff are very friendly, that's not the issue. The problem is the food. This is, by far, so of the blandest Thai food I've ever eaten. The portions are small for the price. Also, the chicken I received was mostly breading and the Rice as good where to start. I have never in my life been served dry rice. It has been sitting for a minimum of 2 days. The rice removed all the moisture from my mouth.Needless to say do yourself a favor and do not eat here, if you are craving Thai food eat something else.
The restaurant had few tables available, which is a great sign for business, but abut of a concern for us in the age of COVID (even with the tables fairly well spaced apart), so we decided to make it a take-out. We ordered the mango salad, the pork wontons and two servings of beef Kutiev. You can quibble over whether the was truly Thai food, because the magi salad is also a regular at Malaysian restaurants, the pork wontons are undoubtedly Chinese, and we couldn’t differentiate the Kutiev from what we would ordinarily order what we KIA’s Pho at Vietnamese restaurants (the Kutiev wasn’t served with hoisin sauce, mint leaves or limes as we normally have in Vietnamese restaurants). The mango salad wasn’t a pleaser, as it consisted of shredded mango and red peppers over a bed of iceberg lettuce. The wontons and their dipping sauce were delicious. The Kutiev were also terrific, and so flavourful (with just a touch of sriracha sauce added) that we didn’t miss the other traditional ingredients. It was a great take-out dish, with the broth placed in a separate styrofoam container alongside the plastic containers that carried the broccoli, beef, soy and noodles. We would order the wontons and kutievs again, without question.
I know someone with shaky/nonexistent French (myself and my wife, respectively), going into a predominantly-French town can make restaurant ordering tricky, but it went off without a hitch! Our server was a very pretty young woman, whose English was more-than adequate to deal with my poor French. We were able to communicate what we wanted with ease and that included making modifications (for allergies and other purposes) to our Pad Thais. When they arrived, they were absolutely delicious and my wife went nuts, as she found it incredibly-delicious and satisfying. Hers was chicken and mine was shrimp; you couldn't go wrong with either. Inexpensive as well and everyone was friendly, a superb way to end our trip through Eastern Canada.
Very good food.
Excellente cuisine et excellent service!
