Great little pub, below street level. As a non-hockey person I still was surprised recognizing many of the photos on the walls. Quick service, nice out-of-the-way spot, great ambiance.
Ziggy is a real person, and he enhances the experience at the pub. Seeing him enjoy the environment and surrounding, only extends the enjoyment. Love you Ziggy.
A bit of an institution. Resting below grade on the legendary Crescent Street, Ziggy’s gets busy.A pretty good selection of beers and cocktails are available here, as well as good service and a nifty jukebox. This bar attracts all types, and you’re certain to make a new friend if you come here alone. The music is always good, too.It isn’t a fancy place though, so make sure you’re ready for a legit bar experience at Ziggy’s.
I got into hockey at Ziggy's. I was there when lockdown in Quebec was announced. I spent my birthday there. It was a home away from home. I know it's cool now because a celeb went in there but remember kids, Drake went to Ziggy's- Ziggy didn't go to Drake
Terrible experience. We had to request service at our table countless times, while the server was enjoying herself a nice bevy and chat. If that alone wasn't enough, the lack of visible pricing allowed her to fabricate the cost during payment. When we went to settle our bills, we were told tip was mandatory and the server tried to put the tip into the bill, for our already over priced drinks. When we tried to explain that tipping isn't something you force at the end of terrible service; when mandatory 'gratuity' was not included in the menu or written anywhere else.. she told us she would call the police for non payment. We made attempts to explain that we would indeed pay the bill, but would be putting in our own tips due to the lack of service -- it escalated to her yelling the following; "don't tell me how to do my job", "I am not your personal servant" "I am allowed to take a break" and my personal favorite "this is how it works in Canada". I hail from the east coast of Canada and have served/bartended for 10+ years.. so I found the statement particularly entertaining. Anyhow, I wouldn't recommend the bar.
Absolutely terrible service. After getting our first round of drinks our server never came back even after new members joined our table. We had to go in and request our server come out so the new members could order and 20 minutes later when she did finally come out she sat down at a nearby table and started chatting. The prices were also outrageously high for a bar and when we tried to pay we were told there was a mandatory 15% tip even though this was not mentioned beforehand or written anywhere. The server was extremely rude and yelled at all members of our party and refused to let us pay unless we gave her a 15% tip. When she did finally give us the bill and machine to pay she tried to put in her own tip and tap my credit card herself without asking. The inside of the bar was also very dirty and the bathrooms were gross. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs.
DO NOT GO THERE!! We were treated so rudely by the waitress, and although she didn't even serve us properly(she didn't take the order of some of us), she expected us to tip her higher, and when we complained, she almost kicked us out. She also was so racist!!
Amazing bar. Amazing atmosphere. The bartender Kat (or Cat I’m not sure ??♂️) is phenomenal. Elle est tres bien!! Everyone should check this place out.
