Haven't ordered here In a while. The gyro was dry,and in little tiny bits instead of nice size morsels and some were so hard could not chew. The pita bread was cold and not fresh the tzatziki was nothing to talk about. The fries were luke warm. We literally live 5 mins away. The place is definitely not what it used to be won't be ordering here again.
greek village is a steady value since time immenorial....ATTENTION though to all of these clientts stopping by to grab a take away and go ....municipal police is lurking by like a snake in the grass handing over parking tickets for 3 minute parkibg violationso you end up paying 80 $ for a souvlaki wrap.....
Delivery guy was lost and extremely rude, very hard to communicate with. Gave him a 20% tip anyways and he then proceeded to complain about how far this delivery was, but before placing the order the boss of the restaurant said it was ok. So I told him half-joking that I would just never order from them again and he said “Good, thank you!”. Surreal.Food was not only ice cold but also just horrible and there were maybe 5-6 french fries per plate. Avoid at all costs.
Still after all these years the best gyro in town.. ordered tonight food was hot, fresh and most of all clean and delicious. Definitely worth it for anyone who enjoys Greek food or grilled meat
Haven't visited Village Grec for some time; it is one of the oldest Greek restos in the city located in the heart of Park Ex Pros: I like the fact that there are fewer tables and better lighting (although the darker light did give this restaurant a unique feel :) ) Excellent food; everything was top notch, from the dolmadakias to the pork souvlaki stick, to the gyros, to even the tzatziki sauce! Ample portions for the platter options; could easily fill two people who are semi-hungry Very impressed that they have "a la carte" options for individual souvlaki sticks and pitas (most Greek restos in Montreal assume customer will only choose platters) Fairly reasonable prices, although the Gyro platter is a bit too expensive in my opinion (~$21); Cons: Climate control seemed to be an issue; way too cold Village Grec is easily in my top 5 Greek restos in Montreal; I wouldn't say it's the best gyro in town but it's pretty darn close :)
It was hood but I felt it was not as good as my previous experiences as I have been there several times. The waitress was very friendly the decor stayed the same, walls full of pictures with famous people. The pita plate was OK, I felt like if my pita was half empty. It was enough for me but in these kind of places normally you have a lot more. Anyways that is what I remember from my previous visits. Of course being located on Jean-Talon Street, parking can be a challenge.

For anyone who enjoys souvlaki and fried calamari, this is one of the spots to visit in Montreal. I usually go for the meat platter and fried calamari.
