My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Le Vandale. The staff were super friendly & knowledgeable of their wine selection. The cocktails, Le Vandale & Down the Rabbit hole, were amazing. Our plates, La Charcuterie/ Huitres fraiches/ Crevettes Nordiques, were amazing. The Tiramisu & Crème brí»lée were the perfect touch to end our evening. I haven't had such an amazing meal in years.
I was excited to try this restaurant! However, it was quite hot inside (I know they canât help that thereâs a heatwave in Montreal but still- a fan would help! It was so hot it certainly squashed any appetite we had coming in to the restaurant). The service was pretty mediocre- we were told over and over again about how small the plates we and that weâd need to order many plates to be fullâ but the plates werenât that small actually! We felt a bit pressured to order more than we wouldâve. The food was just ok; the balance was off (three scallops and a whole giant plateful of beets?) Anyway, the ambiance (minus the extreme heat and the pressure from the server) was pretty cool. Everything else was in the solid âmehâ category.
The food and service was incredible! The vibe and decor is breathtaking! The cocktails are unique and feels fresh ! I will return

The ambience was good but the service was poor. We had to call a server we spotted that was just standing there not doing anything to which he responded 'coming' and still stood there until he wanted to come. He also didn't dress like a waiter, he was just wearing a regular tee and made it so that we didn't feel like he was part of the restaurant which made us think he mightve been the owner. We ordered the $1 oysters, 12 each and a cocktail. My friend got a bad oyster and we immediately left after just the appetizers because the experience overall wasn't great. The only great take away from the restaurant was its lovely hostess but got ruined when the guy in the tee (our waiter) was loudly telling her from across the room when we asked to be seated in a corner seat instead of the one she suggested or led us to that we couldn't because the table wasn't clean. "It's not clean! It's not clean". I reassured her that we were in no hurry and not to stress. She was apologetic and I felt bad for her. I'm not one to ever write reviews bit this place left a really sour taste in my mouth and we don't mean the bad oyster that was given to us, so we just left and went to poutinefest because we refused to spend more money in a place that felt like it didn't care about its patrons. Food and drinks were great. Bartenders were attentive and helpful. Murals were bananas
Loved the cozy terrasse space (just being on the street expect some car noise). Also check out the art inside #cool! Had the yummy Thursday oyster deal but the standout was the Ratatouille entrée : belle et épicié de surprise ;) Iâm coming back!
