We got spicy miso chasuu tonkotsu and spicy miso chicken tonkotsu. The portion is smaller than misoya or kinton ramen, also less toppings as well (only woodear mushroom, spring onions, one sheet of seaweed and half a marinated egg). The braised chasuu's flavor is quite decent but the meat texture is a bit dried, I believe they didnt cut agaisnt the grains, therefore it's stringy and tough. The chicken is quite flavorless and dried, inferior to the sous-vide chicken of kinton. The broth is quite creamy but lack salt. Without the spicy miso it would have been a very bland and under-seasonsed bowl of ramen. We also ordered takoyaki, just the usual, very tiny piece of octopus that kind of disintegrated into the dough because it's frozen. So nothing special there. Also when we asked the waiter about the happy hour dish called 'syake wasa', to which he said 'just a salmon tartare, very small'. Was not the best way to present and cross-sell We had to ask what was in it and he said there was some tempura bit, so we did not order ?
Got the regular pork chashu ramen and it was absolutely delicious. The broth was smooth and not too salty. The noodles were very thin. It tasted great! Would get this again.I also got the karaage and it was good although a bit greasy. It came with mayonnaise and spring onions on top.The small salmon bowl at $7 was a good deal and very delicious. Would highly recommend this.
Since my boyfriend has no food preferences and I only eat vegan we are always looking for a vegan friendly restaurant. Here they serve a vegan ramen normal spiced as well as spicy (I took the vegan ramen normal spiced and my boyfriend the chicken ramen)! We were both totally satisfied. My vegan ramen was super tasty. The portion was quite sufficient, tasted freshly prepared and the price was completely OK!
So happy they opened a second location in Downtown Montreal I used to go to the Mile-End location a lot but now this one is closer to my placeIt has 2 floors and a lot of seating area, which is great. I love their tonkotsu ramen (both the regular and spicy version). Highly recommend!
Such a cute, cozy place. I absolutely love the decor and vibe. Music was great too. The food is delicious and service friendly and fast!
One of my favorite ramen joints in Montreal! The vibe is super fun inside and the ramen is delicious. The tonkotsu broth is rich, creamy, savory with just a touch of sweetness. The broth perfectly coats the noodles, which are the thinner style and cooked to perfection. The chashu meat is buttery, melts in your mouth, and has a beautiful char to it which adds another tasty dimension to the sweet and savory flavor.
I brought my 5 year old son and we had a blast, so much fun! The ramen and takoyaki were very good and the staff was amazing. He took some ramuné and i had some beers, great evening. We really liked the Ghibli artwork and he the decor is perfect. ❤️
Very nice and cosy ramen shop. Gets very busy at peak times, so best to reserve in advance. We showed up without reservations and was able to get a seat at the bar on the 2nd floor. The ramen was very delicious. Broth is creamy and noodles were cooked to perfection. The chu siu was super tender and the egg was also cooked perfectly. I was surprised at the amount of noodles they gave. Usually ramen shops tend to give you quite a small portion. Only downside was speed at which it took to get the order. Otherwise, easy 5 stars.
The night was amazing until we got accused of a clogged sink. We were a group of 8 girls in total drinking and eating. Later on the night, we got charged an extra 75$ for a sink filled with vomit in the men’s bathroom, without evidence nor asking if it was my group. The worst was the manager telling us to clean up other people’s vomit. I would totally understand and take responsibility if it was my group who caused the trouble, but getting accused and charged without asking, this is a first time. At the end, we had to pay for us to leave, but not only this is unethical but it’s unacceptable.
10/10 experience:Atmosphere:Unique and authentic decor with friendly staff who greet you loudly on entry as is tradition. The food:The ramen broth is rich and creamy and delicious. More importantly, they have fully vegan options which is rare and much appreciated. The spice is brought on the side, giving more control and flexibility which was a huge plus. The meat was tender and flavourful. The staff:Polite, considerate and quick on their feet. Very good experience especially given post-covid service standards.
