Service and food were terrible. After we were seated no one came to acknowledge us or take our drink and food order for 20 minutes, had to ask a bartender to come take our order. We got “nachos” which ended up being Tostitos corn chips with a side of store bought guacamole a few mini naans and some cheese dip. Everything was cold and tasted like it’s from Costco and definitely wasn’t worth $18. No one came back to refill our drinks or ask how everything is. Their plastic chairs are also very uncomfortable. Mixed drinks were ok but too sweet. View was very nice. If you plan on visiting this terrace I’d recommend eating somewhere else before you come and sticking with wine or beer.
Great service, great food
Just beautiful. Lovely views and delicious drinks. Bar staff who are so attentive and friendly! Highly recommend!
Need a separate listing for CAFE NELLI (on the main level of Hotel Nelligan. We were walking old Montreal looking for a place with good GF options (my wife being gluten intolerant), after abandoning a different restaurant where we had booked Friday night reservations. That place (Mangiafoco) supposedly known for their GF Neopolitan, did not have it. What a delight to find Cafe Nelli across the street with several low gluten options. It's a hidden gem, (I assume) because it's the lower level of the Hotel. Our waiter Nathan was awesome. My wife had grilled salmon on a bed of pureed beluga lentils with veggies, I had the chicken (you can order a 1/4 instead of a 1/2) which came with sweet potato fries (literally, cooked to perfection and the best I've ever had). Destination restaurants get all of attention, but sometimes get too puffy about themselves. Cafe Nelli was a delightful find... very reasonable too!
Highly recommended because: staff were friendly, food were delectable and the price is just at par with the picturesque view and cozy ambiance.. definitely going back!
We love the experience it’s magnificent scene, amazing food and beautiful moments we create
This place has some really delicious spritz’ so definitely come on a monday when they are $12. Food was also excellent and quick. A little on the high end however that was to be expected in the old port and with such a beautiful terrace view! I really enjoyed their brunch bowl with quinoa. The taro chips were super delicious. Portions were also really big — the pile of fries that came with the burgers was enormous!
Being as fair as I can… we reserved for 11h30 today. Arrived at 11h15, had to wait in the hotel corridor because they were still setting up. Humm! Girl at the door came back at 11h55 and let us in without asking for our vaccin passeport. She let us choose our table. Came back running to fix it. We ordered one home made ice tea, one cheeseburger with fries, one greek salad, one plate of calamari. Here goes! The homemade ice tea tasted like water, I would not recommend It, just a whole bunch of ice with two lemons and no taste. The cheeseburger arrived quick please was very tasty and juicy and I loved it! The french fries were long and skinny very dry very dark overcooked and without taste. The calamari arrived in a swirly bunch not cut, I do not like to have to work for my food so I did not appreciate the presentation. It was not so tasty and chewy. The Greek salad was enormous and just OK. When I told the waitress if she knew that the french fries were horrible and overcooked and dry she said OK did not offer to replace them or was not sorry that I was not satisfied with them would not recommend the french fries the calamari or the ice tea! The terrace itself is very nice a lot of table umbrellas and protection for rain the only problem way too many wasps while you eat. The waitress was running with plates in her hands because of the wasps. It’s a nice experience it’s pretty you have a good view I would go at least once but I would not return. Service was quick but the young waitress did not seem to care if I like my meal or not.
here for hubby's birthday and so enjoy. Great service and food!! thanks for the experience!!
Brunch was fantastic and the pricing is reasonable (but still somewhat high). The rooftop patio is beautiful and the staff were friendly (although they could be quicker with some basic requests). Overall, we will be returning again to this restaurant at some point.
