The Monkland Tavern never disappoints. Great little place located in the Monkland Village. Nice patio during the summer time. Good attentive and friendly service. Fresh ingredients well represented in the seasonal menu. Beautifully presented plates and most importantly, delicious food. Overall great experience.

We stopped in just before closing and shared a variety of appetizers. They were all excellent! The bruschetta and the watermelon salad were amazing! Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend a visit.

June 17, my husband and I had dinner here for my birthday. It was our first visit. The service was unlike any we’ve experienced. We never poured our own water, our wineglasses were always full, waiter gave great recommendations and explained the menu to us. The food was extraordinary. We had two appetizers and two entrees. Everything was delicious.

Always on point. Wine list and suggestions are excellent. We were not in love with a bottle and they changed it. Reception staff is young and bright, with great manners. Waiters are always there when you need them, and cooking staff technically brilliant. It’s a clear sign that management are doing things right. It’s always a great outing. Thank you tavern.

Don’t go here … bad … the food was less then good .. I had the special of the night pasta not so special .. don’t bother ..this use to,be one of the best restaurants on monkland , not anymore .. use to be welcoming .. not anymore … Barb you need to care about your customers so, they will come back , I use to come at least twice a week lucky if I come back twice a decade .. so so disappointed

Beaucoup trop bruyant et pas donné du tout. Par contre la nourriture était délicieuse.

So disappointed. We had a reservation but we’re denied because we had a newborn baby. They said they would be fined because they had a liquor license. A wonderful restaurant a few doors down welcomed us with open arms and the food was fantastic!!!!! Won’t try and go again.I’ve been to many restaurants in Montreal and none denied us.

The Monkland Tavern is a NDG institution. I'm glad to see that it has survived the pandemic and they're thriving again. The service is friendly and efficient and it's always a pleasure to visit.I had the crudo de doré as an appetizer and the snow crab special as the main dish. It was a sumptuous affair and well worth ordering. The restaurant also has great pasta dishes which they are well known for. They also have a selection of craft food and drink products for sale over the counter. We were treated to their special hot sauce on the way out.The restaurant is not large, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance. I found the booking process to be very swift and efficient. You can use Google chat to make a reservation and they will then book you through the Resy app. It's much easier than calling, although you can do that too, as I did when it turned out that I had to make a last minute alteration in my reservation.Maybe someday the city will finally cover the Décarie highway with some green space and then the short walk from the Villa Maria metro will be more pleasant. It's not the most pleasant walk when you have to cross the highway just to get from the metro to the commercial heart of NDG.

I go for the food and come back for the service. Great ambiance...a really pleasant place to spend an evening with new and old friends.

Amazing food and drinks. Their Margarita cocktail is the best I’ve ever had!
