Great food and good service
I recently went for lunch with a friend to Snowdon Deli and it brought back memories. Their take out counter was busy, as usual, with people buying stuff to eat at home. Once we were seated and had a chance to look over their extensive menu, our waitress came by with water and to take our orders The service was quick and my mouth watering platter of old fashioned smoked meat ($18.00) arrived quickly. It was accompanied with bread, a large dill pickle and delicious fries. Wow, it brought back memories, since we hadn’t been there in quite a while. I also ordered a Cherry Coke ($2.50). My friend ordered the old fashioned smoked meat sandwich ($12.50) with fries ($4.50) and a coke ($2.50). Their menu is extensive with all sorts of goodies for breakfast or lunch. Enjoy ? Parking can still be a problem!
The smoked meat was excellent, the pickles were nicely sour, the rye bread was OK, the corned beef was tasty, and the menu was huge while the portions were only moderately sized.
SnowdenDeli remains one of the best go-to places in Montreal for delicious Jewish style meals. We were three and two of us had brunch and one went the conventional deli route, ordering a hot smoked meat and french fries. My brunch dish of eggs, pancakes and beef bacon with fries was hot and delicious. My husband had the plain crepes and they were excellent. Service, as always, was excellent. Looking forward to going there again soon.
Beware, the staff handles food items in buffet/take out section with their bare hands. I commented on it and an employee gave me attitude. Time to find another spot.
It's on the on-ramp from Queen Mary Road to the Decarie autoroute. No parking. Wasted time with no Smoked Meat sandwich (in 15 years) reward.
I went there recently and had their breakfast. The omelette and smoked meat was out of the world. The spinach in the omelette was super fresh. Also, like most of the time, we got some excellent service. I would recommend all to try their breakfast. Yes, they are super clean taking good care of hygiene. I go there with my clients after yoga/reiki sessions. Feels like home.
Full disclosure, I ate in my car. The latkes and brisket were amazing, even in a takeaway format.Update: I went to the dining room, portions were generous, I had leftovers for a second meal. The sides such as the pickles and coleslaw were very good. The service was good and rapid. It was so delicious I would put 6 stars if I could!
We checked the website for their hours and it showed they were open until 7 PM. When we arrived at 5:30 we were told that the dining room is closed. No where on the website does it say only takeout after 3PM. This was very disappointing. When I inquired if we could order off the full menu I was told no, I asked what was available and was ignored. Needless to say this was not a good experience. I won't be back
Meat lovers paradise. Colleagues recommended the place for some authentic cusiene. Smoked meat sandwich looked so very huge when brought to the table. But the softness of the meat was so remarkable, it just melted as you eat.
