Highly underrated place. Delicious authentic Japanese food in a low-key setting and at a very reasonable price point. Salivating just writing about it!

Authentic Japanese restaurant. Really fresh. Quality fish and rice. Nothing compared to the other ones that just wants to sell a ball of low quality rice with a little bit of some cheap fish inside. This place is real.

Yummy food ?Lucky pepole can get the chance to meet Keith. He serves food like family with love. And we enjoyed his jolly nature ?

The food is so authentic and of large portions. I will definitely come again to try other dishes. I guess it is better if they can include some pictures on their menus.

New years eve disappoinment with not so fresh sushi from Sakura. STAY AWAY!I did not have a lot of choices with many options closed for the holidays. My go to sushi place Park was closed until early January.I use to dine at Sakura back in the day but hoped for the best. Since many legacy restaurent has the same staff and cleniness from the 1990. I called days in advance to see what interesting options they would have for new years eve.The lady mentioned Toro, Hamachi and Uni.Only order otoro sushi and Matsu sashimi combo. I arrived at 10 minutes early just to make everything was smooth. There was only one person in from of me. There was four staff and no one acoknowedege the two customers for 15 minutes. Two staff was preparing the food and the other two was walking or standing around doing nothing. When the male waiter finally spoke to me, it took him 10 minutes to find my food that was already prepared before my arrival. I understand it is NYE but my order was already prepared well in advance and i have less then a few hours for me to have dinner and then return to my hotel due to the 10 pm curfew. When I opened it looks like a 14 year kid prepared it. The sushimi looked butchered and cut with a dull knife but sushi looked ok.The oToro sushi broke in half when it was picked up with my chopstick. It tasted okThen the horor show begins.only the salmon (sake) , makeral (saba) tasted fresh.ALL THE OTHER sushimi where the leftover end pieces from the fish. They tasted very fishy and looks like the end of day special at a supermarket.I would write this off as a bad luck, but the other eight sushimi tasted off and chewy.I got SICK the next day to celebrate the new year. This was the only thing I ate for dinner.Major disappoimnet from a old sushi institution. Why play Russian roulette when you don't have to. There are so many other options like Park, Okeya, Ryu or Tri that are at the same price point or just a little higher.I should have bought a sushi platter from IGA

Authentic Japanese restaurant. Sushi and other food are really good! They have an affordable lunch menu. Highly recommended!

My order was missing some items and I called them to advise. The lady refused to admit it.I will never come again

Sakura! A tough gem. Disclaimer, we only tried the sushi and some appetizers but they have plenty of hot Japanese dishes that seem very popular. This menu is quite expensive but the fish is so fresh. We loved the negi toro maki and the spicy scallop! Delicious miso soup (a bit small). Overall, authentic Japanese restaurant, delicious fish, but mediocre decor, subpar service (besides the owner, she’s very pleasant). As a result, the restaurant could easily be knocked down to 3 stars, but because of the food….. it’s a 4.

I have been going to Sakura for 20 years. The sushi has been consistently good albeit expensive. Since the restaurant moved from de la Montagne Street (when it used to be called Katsura) the atmosphere has not been the same and the service has been gradually becoming worse but never as bad as during my last visit. Although I have been a longstanding customer, I shall not be going to Sakura anymore because of the rude service.

I love their happy combo bento box!
