Sat in a front window booth for great people watching on St Catherine St. Service was prompt and helpful. We shared a great bowl of French Onion Soup with the Turkey Melt Sandwich. The whole Briskets cured and in the glass case up front brought a lot of attention and can be sold whole by the weight for take out. Our service said some people have been known to buy one and carry it back on Intl flights! Not a quite place but hey - it's a downtown Deli................
My first visit to Montreal and highly anticipated visit to this restaurant. Had the Original Smoked Meat Sandwich which was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the failure came from the bar as all the draft beer at our table was warm. I hate to complain but guess we should have. All in all a good experience.
Three of us went for lunch and were so very disappointed. The meat was no better than deli meat at the grocery store, my sandwich was incredibly greasy and unpleasant. $24-$27 for a sandwich and handful of fries?!? That’s crazy. The booths are tiny (our legs were touching and we are just average height/weight women). I would never go again and would never recommend to anyone going to Montreal.
Dined at the bar, short rib grilled cheese w/shoestring fries was delicious. Bartenders friendly and attentive. I’m tempted to takeoff the star because the restrooms were upstairs, and I had just gotten done climbing up to Mount Royal. But I won’t.
Great lively atmosphere, lovely staff and amazing food. Popped in here one afternoon whilst visiting Montreal recently. Had a great lunch and a couple drinks. Our server was super friendly and made our visit so much more enjoyable. We were going to go again, but they’re closed on a Monday, everyone needs a day off!!

The classic (smoked meat 'wich) and the honey crisp chicken did not disappoint. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming which makes the entire dining experience very good.Surprised to find the side dish as large as the entrée. Way too much fries.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We had the steak salad, original Ruben sandwich and poutine. Steak was slightly over cooked but great flavors. Sandwich of the charts good. Poutine had the right components but they use thin cut fries, and I personally prefer thicker one. I would definitely go there again to try other items on the menu
If steak is your thing, this is the place! Steak was delicious and service in the restaurant was very good.
We were seated immediately and the service was great. The menu was in English and our order was taken right away. The food came out quickly. Everyone was quite friendly.
