Came for the first time with my spouse and 4 children for dinner. Nice place, great service. We loved the food we ordered: Shirazi salad, Mirza Ghasemi eggplant, barley soup, Aash Reshteh soup (omg!), chicken kebab, rice topped with saffron butter, and my favorite khoresht fesenjoon (which is chicken with ground walnuts and pomegranate- divine). We will be back.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. For the food, I'd say small portion and high price for the quality. I tried Koobide plate there, but the tomatoes and bread pieces were burned. They serve koobide with half a tomato instead of a whole tomato! So when I say burned tomato, I don't mean the skin, which you can easily peel off, but rather the actual tomato, which has been burned to black! kabab was tasty, but the corners were burned to black.
The portion of Kaleh Pacheh (meat soup), was very little and does not worth its price at all. Unfortunately Halim was lacking ingredients like any kind of meat or chicken and same as Kaleh Pacheh it's portion was too small and it's price was too high.
I ordered 3 dishes. Starting with good one, Aashe Reshteh came in good portion and was tasty. K Bademjoon was okay but very small portion for $10. The worst one was Pacheh, not because of its taste, but the hair was not cleaned/removed properly. As you can see in the photos, it came with tones of hair. Portion was small too. If you make a soup, supposedly everything in it should be eatable, which means you can’t feed people a sheep’s hair. A quick tip for you, if you put it in boiling water for a few minutes, and then you shave it, it will root out the hairs. So this way the hairs will be removed from their roots.
Made a reservation online for 8:30, thinking hey, let’s go support local. Arrive at the restaurant to be told they have no room at all, absolutely the most dis despicable customer service! I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Barely in the door and told to leave whilst a whole entire family (whom looked like friends of the owner) is sitting at the table at the door way with room to spare! They clearly don’t want new business and don’t know how to manage their restaurant. Don’t go!
The food was ok, wasn’t anything special. It’s not worth the hype. The fries were cold. Service was horrible. Took over 30 minutes to serve us, when there was no one before or after us.
We went there 3-4 years ago and the food and service were good. We traveled from Ottawa to Montreal during Christmas Holiday and checked online and it showwd open for lunch. When we got there it was closed. They should update their online status.
Delicious food and reasonable price.
I bought kale pache. Delicious, good portion, good presentation and good temperature. A bit expensive but worth it. It is worth it each Iranian food lover give it a try...
Good Pacha and loved it. They don't serve it like flat plate that you see in the pictures and I wish if they do but it was in a bowl. They mention tip as you are paying and if you leave cash tip then they grab it as you are still finishing food. Over all is good for Kale Pacha because we have not tried anything else.
