This was a refreshing stop - noodles and dumplings and broth with the requisite vinegar and chili oil. I reverted to my 8 year old self slurping down the whole bowl. And where else serves stir fried lettuce with oyster or shrimp paste sauce? Nowhere anymore...except here.Noodle soup dish with dumplings is under $8 - do it!!
The overall experience was really good! The server was very nice and patient and gave us lots of suggestions on their signature dishes. Both dishes were good, but not as good as I’ve expected lol. No overcharge on tips. Make sure to call the restaurant 20mins beforehand to reserve for a clay pot rice if you would like to try it! That dish would take a loooong time to wait!
I heard about the home made noodles here and had to try it out.Took a simple Wonton Noodle soup and I must say the noodles were exactly the right consistency and flavor. The wonton itself was very juicy and large. The broth taste decent too, lots of Napa cabbage flavor. All in all quick in and out soup for under 10$ tax in. Hard to find anymore anywhere in Montreal as even a Pho goes for 15$ on average now.
Nice restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food! Highly recommend their Hainan Chicken rice and the braised pig trotters. The hot pot rice is also nice!Note: it is CASH only
We enjoyed some dim sum at Sai Gwan recently during the long weekend and it was delicious. Growing up with parents that had their own Chinese restaurant, eating here really took me back to my childhood! The Pan fried dumplings were handmade and all the dishes had authentic flavour. The service was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend trying this restaurant out.
Do not support. Multiple reviews on overcharging customers. The food was not particularly good. Only cash accepted in CAD with no relevant signage posted anywhere at the establishment. İ offered to pay for my meal in USD but the cashier would only accept a 1 to 1 conversion. İ had no choice but to comply or walk out on the bill. The result was that İ was nearly double charged as the USD to CAD conversion to date was 1 to 1.27 and İ only had a single large bill on hand.I would have been more than happy to leave a generous tip for the convenience and a more honest transaction.
I would never spend half an hour to buy a bubble tea,but would rather spend half an hour on this claypot rice with sausage & chicken. This is one of the most underrated Chinese restaurant in Montreal.
Some tasty authentic very hard to find dishes in Montreal.
Great find, authentic, rare to find chicken hot pot rice with extra sausages#123+#83, Hainanese chicken rice, dumplings and the noodles with shrimp roe, all delish. Warm friendly service, worth trying
The soup dumplings were a bit disappointing and the clay pot wasn't the best but the service was pretty good
