this place is the neighborhood spot for unfussy, tasty Salvadoran food! Pupusas, rounds of corn dough stuffed with yummy stuff like cheese and beans, reign here and are delicious. we shared two, along with the paella, horchata and a dessert, and we were very full at the end. service is not particularly professional (we waited awhile for menus), but friendly and the food came fairly quiclky. they had a table for us when we arrived at 6.45 on a Saturday night, at the height of the rush. i would happily return!
Cooking pupusas is an art. Key elements: fresh ingredients and much care with the oil. Ingesting a pupusa fried in old, overcooked oils is like eating rubber steak. You will need lots of Pepto Bismol to deal with such nasty meal in your guts. So far, none of the pupusas I ate at this place have misbehaved. The curtido, a combination of lightly fermented cabbage relish was tasty, accompanied with a bit of hot sauce. I also had a chicken soup. After savouring the first spoon, for a second I thought my grandmother returned from heaven to cook for me such a delicious and humble dish. In the kitchen there were wisr women cooking, laughing in good spirits. I intend to return to this place...
Great friendly service and great food, highly recommended
Such a great menu. Love this place!
Very nice place with pleasant staff and authentic delicious food! Our server didn't speak English, but spoke French and Spanish. She was very nice and made us feel very comfortable. Food was super delicious and not expensive!Recommend this place a lot!
it started well, great atmosphere when we entered, food was decent…until I was about to finish my food and found and egg shell and some hair in my plate. Politely asked the server to take it back and see what he can do about it, server came back late, I had to remind him twice, then he told me in a very rude tone: things like that happen, what do you want me to do about it. I totally understand mistakes happen and I didn’t expect to not pay for my food obviously, but could at least be kind enough and apologize in a proper way. When we were done, we had to wait half an hour at our table and called the waiter multiple time to get our bills. He finally came back and said you guys have to get up and pay at the desk. Could at least mentioned it when he took out plates earlier instead of ignoring us. Saw them laughing about it too. Avoid this place, staff is rude.
Delicious and fresh! Had the fried plantains, yuca and chicharron, pupusa, and cashew juice. Will definitely be eating here again!
