One and done and like what many said, food was OK, service was awful. No reason that with such a small menu that the meal should take 3+ hours when we all wanted our asap! Good times are all in the past….

Absolutely fantastic traditional Italian fare - so delicious! And the setting in a former women's prison in Old Montreal is so quaint - a nice vibe but still quiet enough for conversation. Manny our waiter was the best - excellent service, perfect timing, very attentive. One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time, and great value for fine dining. Highly recommend.

Sorry to say but what an expensive disappointment. We were 9 people, which required a preset menu which did not have much selection. 2 people ordered the lamb, 1 of the plates was good but the other was literally the bone with barely any meat on it. we questioned it and the waiter said they are different peices of the lamb. that being said 50$ for a round peice of bone!! then I ordered the blue cheese stuffed ravioli because the veal that was on the menu was unavailable, there were 4 ravioli on the plate and cold. My husband ordered the pork, which was a large bone with barley any meat and mostly fat. at the end the waiter brought us 1 bill...we asked if we can separate the bill into 3, well that was not an.option as the policy is over 4 people its 1 bill. we spend 20 minutes calculating the bill. For the reputation this restaurant has, I expected a far more superior evening. I would not recommend nor would I return.

Waiter was rude and tried to be funny. Water needed to be requested all evening. Lamb meal was bones -no meat. Steak was smothered in sauce. Shrimps were bland. No flavour. $1000 for three couples. We won’t recommend or ret.

So where do I start as soon you go to the place a valet is asking for a tip. The place on the look very nice antique looking reminds me of a castle inside but what made me upset is the ridiculous price for one slice lasagna all their portions are very small it’s a place you have to eat Burger King before then go here to eat to be half full the bill was pricey the server slow food took forever and the original owner is no longer there. The menu is small not great deserves two star don’t go here go to petit italia

One of the best restaurants in Montreal . The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cosy and nice staff, especially the guy , who saved my desert and my mood at the bar ?

Honestly, we were expecting so much more given the celebrity photos and Montreal institution reputation of Da Emma..Our server looked like he was ready to fall asleep at any moment. It took 20 minutes from the time we sat down until we received our first drink. He made mistakes on 2/4 of our orders. But that wasn't the worst part..Look at this photo. This was a $47 sirloin, literally swimming in "peppercorn sauce", with a side of cheap boxed pasta soaked in tomato sauce... my wife had a completely flavorless sea bass ($49) that she was constantly pulling bones from.Maybe we just don't get the hype, maybe it was a one off bad experience, but dinner for 4 was $700 (including two $110 bottles of barolo which was the best part of the meal). If you are going to spend this kind of money on a meal, go somewhere else in Montreal. This was food I would expect from a cheap hotel buffet.

We went as a family of two adults and two kids. This place is nice, but probably not the right one if you are looking for a simple family dinner. It seems to be rather for an expensive romantic or business dinner. No pizza, which was surprising to us in an Italian restaurant. No desserts (or maybe we missed a separate menu), ice cream would great for kids. We liked wine. My daughter liked bread with butter most of all. The personal was very friendly and caring making our experience good overall.

We casually walked in on a Thur evening and they accommodated us although packed. The home made gnocchi was amazing, the steak, the fish, every little thing was A+. Thank you Da Emma for a great experience!

We brought our daughter here to celebrate after her McGill grad. Absolutely stunning restaurant! The food was quality, absolutely everything about this restaurant made her night stand out and special and memorable. I cannot say enough about how delicious the food was, but the Gorgonzola ravioli is a must!
