Chinese Dim Sum

A waiter at our hotel suggested this restaurant, and we should not have listened. 4 small plates of dim sum, and a cup of rice totaled $38 (without tip). Food was just average.

Really good cantonese style food. party of ten. service was good!

Very hit or miss restaurant. The salt and pepper tofu is the best I have ever had and the sesame beef and general tso's chicken tasted great but it was all downhill from there. The beef and broccoli was chewy and bland, the lemon chicken was way too sweet and the noodle dishes ( pad Thai and Singapore noodles) were horrible. Overcooked, fluorescent sauces with very artificial flavours. Also the menu comes in a folder because of how large it is. Never a good sign.

Went here for brunch as our first official meal in Montreal and was pretty disappointed. We were served lukewarm tea and the first few dishes were lukewarm too ? but the staff was attentive and friendly. We asked for a new pot of tea and the next round of carts the foods were finally hot. Not a lot of selection but did have tofu hua! Which is one of my favorites and it was done well! The food could have been a lot better but the overall experience have me doubt if I would visit again the next time I’m in the city. It was getting very busy when we left and you can tell the food was definitely hot. And more choices came around. So maybe we just went too early ??‍♀️

The worst of the worst ever Chinese dim sum I ever had in my life. If there is a negative star available, I would have given it a negative score. We arrived in Chinatown on our 3rd day of Montreal vacation. Based on the reviews on Google and some online magazine's recommendations, I just picked this 3.9 stars dim sum restaurant. I did not feel right the moment I walked inside, it's not busy at all at 1030 am, then I knew I made a huge mistake because I knew right away, the food I was going to order will not be fresh, as a Chinese person myself, I know too well how these restaurants run - no waste, reheat the left overs. BUT we stick to our guts and order 8 dishes, the first dish that came out was a deep fried taro root, completely COLD, the waitress said that they fried it in the morning ???? I mean I am here to eat fresh dim sum, not what u fried 3 hours ago. The sticky rice wrap was barely warm, dry, no taste, the beef rice wrap was also barely heated, not even hot, the steam beef ball was the absolute day old, dry, dark, mushy, and tasted so bad that we did not even bother to eat it. The only hot dish we had was the pan fried shrimp egg plant, and the sauce had no taste. By the time we paid our bills, the waitress DEMANDed a 15% tip. We paid what was needed and walked right out. I do not understand how a restaurant can still be in business while serving these cold dim sum to customers. Don't bother going to dim sum in Montreal, the Best places are in Richmond, BC, and Markham, Ont.

I have been coming to this place since the 90's and have always loved it until today. The food was mediocre and our waiter was extremely rude and raciallyprofiled us.Not only did he lie and say that there are no alcoholic beverages he got down right angry when I asked for the drink menu. The waiter let put a huge sigh and slammed the spoons into the bowls he was placing on the table. When it came time to pay my friend left a sufficient tip but was then bullied into leaving more.I am extremely disappointed and sad to say that I will never enter this restaurant ever again.

Had takeout din sum and it was delicious. The place is almost impossible to access. It is located on the second floor of a sketchy mini indoor mall under a tall apartment complex. You must enter the building at one side and walk through the mall to the other side to go up broken stairs or a stationary escalator then follow arrows on floor to help you along your way. The food took over 30 minutes to be ready even though they said to return in 15 min. The back of house staff apologized but not the man, who might have been the owner, who took my order. He appeared to enjoy talking with customers and people he knew at a reserved table specific for office/business work close to entrance/cash register. I enjoy listening to their loud conversation while waiting for my order in an otherwise quiet setting. I’ll be back for the food.

Going to this place has been a tradition since my student days. They only have the Dim sum trollies in the morning, we went evening time and it was ala carte. We ordered a general Tao, Singapore style noodles, fried calamari, green vegetables, scallop and shrimp dumplings. The food was great as usual, and the free refill tea is always a great asset. Service was good, but food arrived at random intervals, and was a bit of wait until everything was on the table despite the restaurant being semi empty. Still a restaurant I enjoy, recommended.

The food was pretty good in general from the dim sum offerings. High marks for the bean curd and beef ribs, super delicious! The rest was a little rough around the edges compared to the places I frequent but all nicely flavoured. However, service is nonexistent. Outside of the people with the carts who were trying, no other person even approached the table to offer anything other than the tea dropped when we sat. We had to wave someone down and they seemed inconvenienced by us being thirsty. Anyhow, end of the meal we paid cash and left a poor tip for virtually no service. A waiter came over (for the first time in hour and a half) and berated us for not leaving a larger tip and was insisting we put more down. Pretty embarrassing all around. I am normally very generous as I work in this industry too, but the last time I checked, a tip is subjective to the level of service offered and there wasn't any. The owner/manager watched it all go down but couldn't be bothered to ask why his staff were shaking down customers because they didn't do their job. Pretty poor form.
