Had the fried chicken for takeout. It was nice and crispy with a bit of spices. The ratio batter/chicken was good :) and it came wih gravy and coleslaw salad.They are pretty generous with their portions. 3 pieces of chicken is enough for a meal and if you take a side of fries, it's plenty enough to fill you up.I would say the cornbread is equally the highlight here as it was nicely balanced of sweet/savoury in taste.Even the carrot cake (which I highly recommend cause it was delicious), is a good piece.
The ribs and most of their food tasted kind of like plain BBQ sauce, I was expecting a different BBQ taste than the normal one that I can make on the grill. The ribs was not falling off the bone but more like stayed on the bones. The mac and cheese is great the next day but not the day it’s made because the seasoning didn’t soak through everything.
This place had been highly recommended for its fried chicken.Though the chicken is moist and the breading is perfectly crispy, I wish there was a bit less seasoning on it.The gravy had way too much clove in it for my liking, it overpowered any other flavour.The cornbread and ribs were fantastic! Their homemade cornbread sauce and bbq sauce are great.The salad is a beautiful fresh salad with veggies and lots of herbs which I appreciate. The dressing is homemade but reminds me too much of Kraft Italien dressing. I would have preferred a different dressing with citrus to cut some of the salt and fat of the meal.Service was very good! Super kind, welcoming and attentive.Would go back!
Very delicious food. Ambiance is nice, small dining space. Whoever chooses the music has some mad taste, amazing songs. Toilets are hilariously small. Great experience.
I wish we’d taken pictures but the food was too delicious! We were so excited to once the food arrived, we ate before I even thought to snap a pic. We had the mac & cheese which was served in a hot skillet: nicely seasoned, super flavourful & creamy with a generous amount of gooey, bubbling, crispy cheese on top! A sprinkling of breadcrumbs was just right. We also shared a full rack of ribs which was perfect for 2 people (7 huge bones), they were cooked to perfection & fell clean off the bone as soon as I touched them with my fork - our knives were left untouched as they weren’t needed at all. A bottle of house-made BBQ sauce was also provided but we didn’t need to add any as these ribs were well-sauced already. The ribs came with 2 small portions of pickled coleslaw - no creamy sauce here, just refreshingly tangy cabbage & kale. We also had the fries: well seasoned, crispy & served with a slightly spicy mayo. The green salad was also nice, topped with shaved radishes & micro greens. All in all a very delicious meal - we had to talk ourselves out of going back a second time the next night! Highly recommended. Next time will try the roasted chicken & cornbread, as the table next to us ordered it & it all looked amazing.
Fried Chicken - nice and crispy. Good batter.Coleslaw - bland and lacking flavour. Nothing exciting and probably good that it was only about 1.5 tblsp of a portion.Fries - OVER SALTED. just completely salty and was inedible. Seriously.Gravy - BAD. Something weird tasting. I believe it was clove or a seasonal spice but was too intense and did not go with the gravy flavour or chicken.BBQ Sauce - fine at first but with a weird aftertaste, a little like it had been open on the refrigerator for a month. BBQ Paradise is more than food. It is a place that you will always leave with a smile on your face.The fried chicken is boneless and it's the best you'll find in Montreal. Mac and cheese is from another world, crispy on top and amazing on the inside. The mashed potatoes have melted cheese inside and gravy on top, how could you not like that.Finally, their dessert to end… dark and white chocolate melted in a huge crispy cookie, everything was just perfect, just like in paradise.
Here are the reason I gave 5 stars.The mac’n’cheese was crispy on top and the cheese inside was top notch. The fried chicken was delicious and I asked for the spicy mayo instead of the gravy, I highly recommend it. I also ordered the biscuit for the dessert... just try it and you will thank me later.
