It clearly isn’t worth a 4.5 rating. The location is very central and the atmosphere is nice. But the quality of the food can be very variable - fries and cacio pepe pasta were not good but the kids pasta were ok. Staff was friendly but not very efficient. Place to go for a random dinner, not to celebrate any particular event.
My friend suggested this place and I'm so glad we came. Situated in the heart of downtown. Gorgeous & modern interior with a romantic vibe. Loved their truffle gnocchi so much , we ordered twice! The service was impeccable 5/5. Will come back to try the café downstairs ?
Extremely expensive for Lunch Very Very Slow Service Food was not worth the long Wait The waitress was very pleasant
I love to complain and nitpick about restaurants but there was no need to do so here. They hosted our party of 12 (which included a toddler) very comfortably and nailed pretty much everything in the process. Each dish was well prepared ensuring all the diners were satisfied, and we found the prices to be very reasonable for the quality of the food, preparation and overall service. I personally had the fish of the day (grilled sea bass) and it was excellent. Easy to recommend this place.
must try; fried calamari, assorted dessert (tiramisu to die for!! it’s so fluffy and the amount of sweetness is perfect) i’m guessing the pasta is homemade. the filet mignon and lamb was bomb. basically everything was excellent. staff were friendly and quick
Great place to go for a nice dinner. My friends and I ordered the mushroom risotto, a pasta dish and a fish dish. For dessert we shared the cannolis, the limoncello cake and the beignets. The fish was a little dry but the rest of the food was great!
Great food with amazing service. The appetizers are great with very flavorful cocktails and food!
Always a great time at MKT. Delicious food and great service. Big thank you to Louie!!
My first time at this location. Beautiful decor, great food and attentive service. It's the whole package.
Located in the heart of Montreal, Osteria MKt is set back off St Catherine’s St. Extremely welcoming was the reception staff and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Seating is well spaced as to adhere to COVID regulations and not too noisy. The menu is not overly large which is a relief, to me meaning they can spend more time doing everything right. To start we had the grilled octopus and oysters. The only thing to be said about that is PERFECT. The octopus was tender and not over cooked, well seasoned and plated beautifully. The oysters were fresh and extremely tasty. The main course consisted of the gnocchi and fish plate ( baked cod). The gnocchi absolutely blew me away. Large and bursting with flavour, stuffed with mushrooms and hot. The accompanying sauce was something that was talked about in great detail. I’ve never had something quite like it to be ho eat and I will certainly be returning for it in the near future. The fish was perfectly baked to perfection and spiced on point. Flaky and juicy, it was the perfect portion and must be a staple of the menu. I must say, I was a little confused by the musical choices, it was not inappropriate but just didn’t really fit the vibe. I think an aesthetic Lofi choice would have been better suited but it really didn’t take away from the experience at all. Our waiter was nothing short of perfect the entire night. Extremely knowledgeable with the menu and the items on it he suggested parings as well as wine choices. The plate sizes were enough where we could not order dessert. One of the group members has food allergies and the staff ensure they were safe and they accommodated accordingly. This restaurant for me is a must visit while in the city of Montreal. I will be returning very soon! Thank you to the staff of Osteria MKT for a great night.
