Such a comfortable and romantic brick-lined space for such great food. The service was excellent, and every choice rewarding.
First time here with a group of 9 people without a reservation on a Saturday night, so we had to eat at the bar. Jeremy provided outstanding customer service. He greeted us with a smile while answering questions & making entrée suggestions. I'm not a drinker but tried the Le Peche per Jeremy's recommendation, it was delicious & refreshing. I ordered the Shrimp Popcorn with the Wasabi sauce on the side, very tasty. The Merchant Burger was flavorful served with a ton of fries. Others enjoyed the trout and the Poutine. You should definitely stop in and find your favorite dish!
Great service from Alex, and the seat right in the open window onto the street was a bonus to watch the world go by in Rue St Paul Ouest. The steaks were great, and the dessert was indulgent but not over-sized. A great wine selection. I’d go back
Horrible. Will never return nor recommend it; from the service, to the time the food and drinks took and the number of errors our server made.. the whole evening was terrible. I went with a group of 10 people for a birthday and we were horrified at how bad the entire evening was here at Mechant Boeuf. I should have listened to the other bad reviews and never booked/ gone

We had made a reservation for 2 and when we arrived on time they had no table for us. We accepted a seat at the bar. The service was very nice, but very slow, and the food was not very good and definitely overpriced. I donât think I would go back.
Good food - waiters friendly⦠Hostess has massive attitude⦠I reserved for 2 people and they refused to give me a table - ended up seated at high barâ¦which was uncomfortable with stools - I politely asked the hostess for a table and told her the reservation online took should have indicated the seating arrangements⦠she gave me so much attitude making the start of the evening unpleasant⦠Overall food was great..but I would say watch out for hostess⦠She clearly doesnât underarm that she is the face of the restaurantâ¦Find a hostess that understands customer service with a smile !
The restaurant was quite busy and the food was delicious. The pork rib was especially tender with a huge portion.
The food was outstanding and Alex, our server was incredible. He made our experience that much more enjoyable. Weâll definitely be back!!!
