Maison Public os on top of our favourite restaurant in Montreal. French bistro with a “tappas” kind of menu with always some very unique choises. Samuel was great in explaining all of it and provided some excellent wine choices. .. W’ll be back
Very good food, excellent service, and lovely low-key neighborhood vibe.Loved the vegetable dishes and the halibut fritters we had were excellent, among the best fish fritters I’ve had—light, crispy, and flavorful, with an excellent tartar sauce. This was a special, as were the roasted mushrooms, which were excellent. Porchetta was tasty and surprisingly large serving after the other small plates. Crudo was alright.Service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating in English, with good drink recommendations.Would happily come back.Note: can be noisy once it fills up, which happens around 7:30 when we were there.
Excellent food and service
Had a amazing dining experience here at Maison Publique. Make sure you have a reservation so they can accommodate you well! (Maybe 2-3 months in advance)The food tasted incredible and the staff (esp JP or was it PJ? I can’t recall) was so kind and accommodating all night. The food was nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Their menu changes from time to time so you’ll never try the same thing twice! I definitely want to come back here when I’m in Montreal again.
Luv the place, always something new to discover. My fav is the Welsh Rarebit!
What a pleasure it was to dine here. The food was creative and delicious - the mozzarella di bufala with pistachio was a surprise highlight - and the service was top notch. The desserts were also excellent, I wish we could have tried them all.I can’t fault it on anything. We loved the ambiance and the music was great but not too loud. Cocktails were also mixed very well. I only wish I lived closer! Thanks for a beautiful evening - we’ll be back soon to try brunch.
Recommended by a local friend. The staff was really friendly. The menu was all French and we didn’t speak French so he explained everything. Food was great too! Loved beef tartar especially.
Maison Publique is noisy, closely-packed and full of amazingly good food. The menu listed on the chalkboard contains wonderful dishes. We had quite a sampling of things and loved them all. Good wine. And three delicious desserts rounded out the meal. A much-loved Montreal restaurant -- for good reasons!
Delicious creative food in a neighbourhood restaurant setting. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, walking us through the menu and recommending good natural wine. The dishes are all sharing and ideal for 2-4 people. Sleeper item on the menu are the roasted carrots which are very sweet and taste as good as any barbecue meat. Will definitely go back again.
Tres BienA petite room with wonderful tastes. For those who enjoy meat and sweet meats - this spot hits the mark. From rabbit pate to foie gras you’ll have a taste of something unique and different. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is a plate sharing experience so bring friends and enjoy the food and company.
