We went there 20 minutes before the closing time, and got the beef patties and goat roti to take out. The beef patty is amazing, buttery, flaky and the filling is spicy and full of flavor. This was much much better than the beef patty we were getting from Chinatown. Highly recommend getting a patty!The goat roti had good quantity of meat and was delicious as well. We thought we might not get the best experience because it was so late, but this was definitely worth the trip.The ambience of the sit down restaurant is very tropical and fun with bright colors. Their menu is available on a TV.
from toronto and have had my share of oxtail, but this is the best ox tail i’ve ever had!generous portion of ox tail compared to majority of places that give you mostly rice. & the gravy was perfect. only complaint i have is that the plantain was not made fresh, but aside from that it was a great meal.will definitely be back soon!
I used to love eating here. Today, I felt like curry so I drove out from the west island. It's obviously under new management because everything was bad. The chicken didn't even taste like curry - it was in a bland 'brown sauce', the rice & peas were flavorless and DRY. I left 3/4 of my plate. Sadly, the place seems to have really gone downhill.
I am sorry but the chicken roti you serve at your west island location are not the same as before you took over from the previous owners..Here's the differences: drier shell and filling, shredded chicken instead of leg and thighs chunks and finaly the seasoning, much less savory.I am convinced the previous owners kept their secrets.
Just had the chicken roti plate and it was great. Could only eat half the roti. It was so filling!
To be honest, this meal on as quite heavy. You wouldn't think so by the looks of it, but you'd be wise not to underestimate how big the roti is. I got a chicken roti, a beef/goat roti, and some Jamaican patties and the favorite of the day was the chicken roti. I did not take any pictures because I couldn't wait to eat.
So happy that they have come to the West Island! Amazing roti, delicious goat curry and the best chick peas! We missed this so much after we moved to the West Island!
I grew up in the area, and I am still a local here. Been eating from curry house for quite some time. The quality and taste in previous years were so so to underwhelming.Lately its been really really good!!! Their quality in taste has definitely improved. Even their patty is real proper too.Keep it up!!
This home style Jamaican Curry’s simply the best I have had!! Or at Leary it’s the way I like it! The OxTail is the best in the city, without a doubt! Gloria and all the great people also make it a joy to pickup, can’t wait to sit in again!
New ownership, great and friendly service! They are constantly checking orders and the service is fast. I order goat roti when I go there and it hits the spot. Very large roti with thick skin. The meat can use some more gravy though since the skin is so thick. Overall it’s a nice spot to eat at with friendly new staff.
