I was on the hunt for a dining experience in Old Montreal, and decided on Maggie Oakes, since they had an available table on the patio. The hostess was friendly, and I was seated at a table on the edge of the patio with a great view of Place Jacques-Cartier. I ordered a pint of St-Ambroise IPA to start, then ordered the 16oz Rib Steak ($64) which was dry aged for 45 days. The beer wasn’t very good, nor did I finish it. The steak came with seasonal vegetables, and the quality of the steak was as good as a $10 pub steak. The bill took much longer to arrive than it should have taken, quality of meal and service reflected appropriately on tip. Based on the quality of steak I had at Maggie Oakes, this will be the last time I order a steak while in Montreal!

Our room wasn’t ready for check-in at the William Gray so we wandered into Maggie Oakes for a drink. Our waiter was friendly and easy-going; no pressure. We ended up deciding to order dinner and it was superb. The steaks were outstanding and perfectly cooked. Very enjoyable meal.

Great meal even better service by host R1415 ! Thanks

The food was good, but pricy. The service was good. The people were very personable.

The food is worth it’s value and the waiters/waitresses are incredibly friendly. Though because of the busy night the noise levels is a bit too loud and the service is slower than usual, otherwise everything is very good.

good chic cute fancy fun if you’re looking for an elevated vibey dinner!!

I appreciate having my brunch there. It was nice.

Three times to get a stake cooked right. The ambiance and service very regular, I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant. We’re not coming back.

Service was exceptional! The sommelier was a pleasant addition to our evening. We felt like celebrities. And the quality of the food speaks for itself...a wow all around.
