We stopped here to get some beef patties, however it was not what we were expecting. The patty shell was thicker than what we have had before, and the filling was not spicy. If you are used to, thin shells and spicy filling, then you may find this lacking that kick. While we were here, we wanted to try their jerk chicken. We were full from our previous meal, so we didn’t want the full affair of a jerk chicken plate that comes with rice, plantains and coleslaw. We were able to order just the extra meat option from their menu, it was 6$. It came with a chicken drumstick and a thigh. The jerk chicken was delicious, juicy, fall off the bone and laden with the good spicy sauce. While the beef patty was not to our liking, I would definitely recommend their jerk chicken. It’s a small place with not many seats, but it seemed like most people were doing take out. Staff is friendly.
Great Jamaican food. Been here only once and such a shame as I should be here weekly.
Generally pretty good. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Surprisingly, the highlights were the coleslaw and plantain. Coconut in the coleslaw really changed the game and was a pleasant surprise. On the other hand, the plantain had good flavour and a nice crunch.
I have to give at least 2 stars as the Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, and Bajan Chicken were all quite delicious, along with the rice. What was extremely disappointing was the fact our Uber delivery order was missing the coleslaw that accompanied all 3 entrees. It is clearly advertised with the menu items. Now you might say, well it's just coleslaw....but for those who enjoy a spicy Caribbean meal, the coleslaw is essential in cutting some of that heat and adding to the enjoyment of the dish.Sadly, we were not able to have the full meal experience that we were looking forward to having. I hope extra care is taken with future orders and ours was just a blip in their service.
Great service, decent food but most of it is not authentic. On the other hand their rice and coleslaw is great
Got the veg plate. Portion size was pretty small, and food was mediocre at best (not too fresh and not too flavorful). Also highly priced for a veg plate considering the jerk chicken plate was the same price. Plantains were the best part, and the customer service was great!
I loved loved my jerk chicken ! It was juicy, flavourful and melty. I tried the need patty, the mac and cheese and the plantain which were solid too, but the chicken really steals the show ! Would come back
I love loydies and it has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. Sadly recently they have reduced their portion sizes by about half and havent changed the prices. I will probably still enjoy their delicious plates from time to time but it just doesn't have the same amazing value it used to have. Would easily be 5 stars if they go back to the old portion sizes.
Had the pleasure of eating at Lloydie’s about two weeks ago with my husband, 3.5 and 5.5 year olds, and my mother-in-law. We ordered jerk chicken, beef patties, riz, plantain, coconut coleslaw and the mac pie. Everything was delicious and the service was top-notch - everyone was very kind and patient with our rambunctious kids! My daughter loved the mac pie. If you can have the coconut loaf for dessert, go for it. 10/10 recommend ??❤️
Absolutely delicious. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Definitely will be back.
