Everything we had here was fantastic except maybe the cucumber side dish. The chicken thigh meat in foie gras reduction was insanely good--almost melts in your mouth except for the crackling skin. The sauce is magnificent! My daughter had the steak frites which was also incredible--the fries are done in brown butter before being fried so are dark brownish/flavorful but still crispy. The dark chocolate flourless cake with pecan praline ice cream/crunch was also incredible. So rich that even with three of us eating one dish we left some behind. The specialty cocktails from the bar are also worth mentioning--they are unique and at least the two we tried were wonderful. Great service too. By Joe Beef who's restaurant is just next door. Difficult to get into not surprisingly.

SUMMARY:Definitely one of the good adresses in MTL, long waitlist to get in, but better spots to try in the city in my opinion,The GOOD:- ambiance is lots of fun, laid back and for any vibe ( business, couple, friends)- some plates such as lobster spaghetti, scallops and veggies really are outstanding- selection of wine is strongly worth the detour- all waiters are friendlyThe BAD :- prices are ridiculous in my opinion. Yes the food was good, but food + bottle of wine for 500$, not worth it in my opinion. I would recommend rather toqué, pastel or MTL plaza for similar prices.- our chicken plate was strongly over salted, which was a bummer . Our friends who were at joe beef at the same time had the same experience with their rabbit plate.- service was slow, probably too many waiters / table

The atmosphere is great, the service is impeccable. Always topping up waters and wiping your table. The food was amazing. Had raw scallops to start, duck for a main, and an amazing raspberry pistachio mousse for dessert!

Highly recommend. A beautiful atmosphere with great service and delicious food. Cocktails were also great. Only disappointment was the Fois gras with cherries appetizer. I expected more for $39. It was a cold store bought slab with cherries. Other than that, everything was incredible! Steak frites was delicious! Steak was perfectly cooked with a delicious Tri-peppercorn sauce. My husband’s poulet was fantastic too. My trout was fresh & had a beautiful herby, minty cream sauce. Also, the waiters & bus staff joked around with my sons which was nice. They weren’t stuffy at all. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars if the fois gras wasn’t so bad.

Brilliant food & service ! Perfect evening. Delicious lobster spaghetti and steak with garlic frites Merci Liverpool !

We were fortunate in getting table reservation fir the time we wanted at short notice. We were early but they accommodated us and the table was lovely. The atmosphere was good and orders taken promptly. The cocktails ( negroni and s Caesar) were fine - not outstanding but still very good. The sever recommended the tryout of oyster and they were delicious- the best part of the meal. My husband said his paris Brest starter was good . My main issue is with the steak frites ( and I fully accept that some information was list in translation). The portions were HUGE and one plate would have easily served both of us. We noticed other tables sharing plates and I acknowledge that this is increasing in the UK but it’s still usually specified on the menu. We were defeated … so everyone lost as we were too full for a pudding and a coffee and cognac!! And it’s not cheap - the bill came to just under £200 - abd for that at home we would expect better.

Finally trying out the legendary, Joe Beef in Montreal. We came for one of their signature dishes, Spaghetti Howard-Lobster. It was super rich and we were surprised that the portion is ginormous. The spaghetti cooked perfectly, the sauce was delish, creamy with lots of bacon bits and chives. The star for the night is absolutely the fresh lobster. For $71, it is a reasonable price. We also order Steak & Fries. The steak is a little bit overcooked. But if you like parmesan fries, this is for you - deliciously crisp. For us the fries are a bit too salty. We were seated in the outdoor dining area, it was nice. The staffs are friendly. As the menu doesn’t have English version, the staff goes over it one by one. Overall, it is highly recommended to try when you’re in Montreal.Reservation needed, as they are fully booked pretty fast even on weekdays.

Had the steak with Blue Cheese. All I can say is I will never have a steak like that ever again in my life! It was so exquisite and the portions were really good! A great way to start a trip to Montreal!

I am NOT a seafood fan, but will try things within reason. I had the raw scallops. Oh my! What an amazing flavor and texture! Staff was super cool and I highly recommend getting the paper airplane drink. Should definitely have a reservation. Their sister store has like a month long wait list.

Do not go for their specials!!!! $150 for a 30 day aged steak that tasted no better than a piece of low grade fresh Sirloin (pretty sure it wasn’t aged a day). They probably thought they can get away with it at the ultra low table lighting. ?and what is up with the 1 piece of pork rib garnish???$180 for a plate of Halibut neck meat (disappointingly mixed in with filet) although sauce tasted good but not nearly worth the price.Seating was so tight, I swear my back had “arse burns” by the end of the whole dining experience. If you like your “fine/expensive dining experience” to feel like a loud rock and roll bar wreck? This is your overpriced cheap joint.. and be prepared to pay a minimum of 18% tip for amateur service!Worst $800 experience!
