We wanted to go to Kazu next door (best Japanese restaurant in Montreal) but it was closed. Looked great from the outside. Staff was really nice and helpful.Food was very very average. Will not go back. I cook better food at home

I have been going to this restaurant at least 20 times since it opened. It's great for small groups and any type of occasion (as long as you're not expecting a quiet and silent location). It really captures the Izakaya essence.Prices are great and they often have a special rotating menu. 100% recommend ?

I order at least once a month from kinka, and i have to say i am very disappointed lately. The portion size are really small now. Quality however is top notch and service on-site is always great. However they really have to check the portion size for 5$ cake and soup (barely 3/4 of a cup of soup). I’m not expecting american size portions and understand this is a small apetizer and dessert, but i can get a full cake at Uncle Testu for 12$ across the street. So there is room for improvement in that regards. I will keep ordering there, but will definitely not order a couple of the things on the menu until this has been adjusted.

This place is a gem. It is tapas style food, therefore, you are able to try many different things for cheap. Perfect place for foodies who aren't familiar with Japanese flavours. Service was awesome and the staff were very friendly. We have been many times and have even brought friends who also loved it. Fresh fish and noodles with clean flavours. Would definitely recommend.

I had suggested this place for me and my colleagues from France to try and we’re all happy we chose this place. The food was really delicious and served in a timely manner and the sake bombs were great! To add on it, our wonderful and down-to-earth waitress, Alex(?), patiently took their time to explain the concept of the restaurant and the dishes we had ordered. A+ customer service and would definitely try again!

Great food and service. The torched salmon sushi was excellent. We ordered an extra set as it was really yummy.Agedashi tofu was very good too with a chewy exterior and soft interior. The broth for the tofu was good too. Takoyaki had a little too much dough, and the ponzu sauce was a little too sour for my liking. Still, it's not bad. Sukiyaki with beef was very good too.All in all, pretty enjoyable.

Lovely place with good food. It's better to have reservations on busy nights!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was delicious, would've loved to try more of the items on the menu.

I did like the octopus balls, it was my first time, the drink litchi and vodka was delicious

I loved this restaurant. The location was perfect in the heart of Montréal. The service was attentive but not overwhelming. The food was delish and the decor was perfect.
