A very good overall experience! A casual vibe and cozy spot with delicious food. We took the omakase and everything was excellent and creative
Staff was very warm and offered a great dining experience. We had the tasting menu with the appetizers and I would definitely suggest that to anyone who is a fan of Japanese cuisine or sushi in general. The appetizers were delicious and unique. The sashimis were fresh, delicious and also a good variety of very exotic options you might not find elsewhere. A must-try!
Jun I is definitely at the top of the sushi food chain in Montreal alongside Park. They are creative with their rolls but not at the expense of the quality of the ingredients. They respect their fish and serve you top quality, fresh pieces. I booked a week ago because I was craving some uni and this is one of the only places in town that I would trust to serve me fresh ones. Arrived there and was told it's unavailable tonight. Annoying? No, reassuring. I was told the toro is good today. It was melt-in-your-mouth awesome! If you've been eating sushi at our favorite local shop, do yourself a favour and go eat here.
Delicious sushi. large selection of fresh fish. Intimate and cozy place, people are nice doesn’t feel pretentious. Amazing cocktails. Best sushi restaurant in mtl.
I got the testing menu, and the only items that were good was the hand roll, yellow tail, and black cod. The rest was either average or below average. Also really weird that they give the food on one plate when two people order the tasting menu. Can’t imagine taking someone out on a business meeting and having to split a piece of black cod from one tiny bowl. The hunt for food sushi in Montreal continues…
Even the omakase takeout is tops! Can't be beat...
Souper dégustation incroyable, service attentionné, qualité des plats et fraîcheur des ingrédients irréprochable. J’ai été impressionné par la qualité des vins. J’y retournerai assurément
Superb fish. Probably sushi I have ever had. I’m originally from Vancouver and currently living in Toronto. The spicy hamachi was our favorite of the night. The only thing was that they gave us wooden take out chopsticks and I would’ve preferred something a little nicer to match the rest of the vibe. Great waiters and staff who are trained well and have good knowledge of the fish. However this could be just because of COVID so it’s not a big deal and I will definitely be coming back.
The service is good, but the food is disappointing. The Omakase tasting menu is 90$ per person so I had high expectation, but turns out the food doesn’t stand out from other normal sushi restaurants (price range around 30$ per person). What frustrated me most is the whole environment. As an expensive Japanese sushi restaurant with tasting menu, the chopsticks are disposable. I mean, can you imagine a steakhouse gives its customers plastic knife and fork? Also, it was super noisy in the back and the background music is just too loud, from Flo Rida’s Low to Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life. I love all these music, but I just expected a more quite and formal environment here.In conclusion, the food and environment just aren’t worth the price. My suggestion is don’t choose this restaurant for a date or a formal occasion, cuz it is super expensive and it won’t meet your expectations.
Great experience. We took the sélection du chef. Omakase is only available for dinner. Hand soap in the bathroom is fancy. Everything is very clean
