Wonderful atmosphere! From the old buildings surrounding a secluded courtyard, to the live jazz musicians... so unique! Our server was very confident, helpful, and supportive throughout our meal, and the food was SO good. We weren't expecting a restaurant with such an expansive menu to pull things off that well. My favourite was the bruschetta for sure.Thank you Jardin Nelson, we'll be back! ♥️
One of the best kept secrets of Old Montreal!Great jazz band at noon and night, the ambience is cool, serene and even romantic almost! I will be back for more definitely. The servers were great and very knowledgeable.
[FOOD POISONING]2022-05-11 : I had a wonderful time here at Jardin Nelson, our waitress was super friendly and courteous, we sat inside the “garden” where it was shaded and cool. Unfortunately, all of this went badly when I had food poisoning later in the day. The only thing I ate was a toast at 7h30am and we came here for lunch towards 14h00. The cocktails were nice, refreshing and well made (nicr amount of alcohol). I ordered the maple BBQ ribs and they were tasty, but I was bloated right after I finished the plate. I didn’t notice anything immediately after the meal but when I got home, I started feeling nausea and had liquid diarrhea, so it’s a shame. It’s nice under their canopy and “garden” because there is live music being played by musicians. I would recommend you come here for your [email protected] with your coworkers after work or just to have a drink to escape the hot afternoon sun when you're visiting the old port, but not to eat because I don't trust the food. Overall, it’s a good place and I would like to give it a 2nd chance. However, for now, I will give it 3 stars.
Beautiful place.Eating here was a whole experience. The food is good. The service is great. Delicious drinks. The decor and ambience along with the live music make it so memorable. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal. The whole front wall, which seems to be the facade from a previous structure, gives it an amazing feeling. It was an atmosphere where families, couples, mature or young, were all having fun. For a while, you feel as if you were in a far away land. Words don’t do it justice. You have to visit the place to fully understand. I will certainly come back next time I’m in Montreal.
Great ambiance, gets really packed tho and crowded inside. Food was good. Overpriced. A little long wait which is okay. Good service and love the live music perfomance!
Food is good but the ambiance is superb. Live music and a slightly indoor patio that makes it feel secluded from the busy tourist filled streets.
We went to the restaurant with our friends after a historic tour in Montreal. It was my first visit there. I was enchanted. The place was beautiful, a real garden. A band played nice music. It was a lunch time, so we ate light. We shared with my husbands shrimp tacos and tuna tartar. They were both exquisite and very reasonably priced. A glass of good Chilean white wine complemented the meal. I strongly recommend this restaurant. I know we will go back there in spring.
Beautiful outdoor restaurant, loved the atmosphere there. I had a soup to start and a salad, both really good. Service was very good too.
We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around Old Montreal and were very glad we did. The line up seemed long outside, but it moves very quickly. Extremely impressed with the ambience and live jazz music, perfect for a date night. Our server was attentive and she recommended their crepes as the restaurant’s signature menu. Delicious food and cocktails with great vibes. Couldn’t ask for more.
This is a very beautiful place with live Jazz music on side! This place is very very pretty, the sandwiches was tasty too!The only think I don’t understand is they charge you to refill your soft drink and they don’t really check on you for water.
