We had a memorable meal at XO Le Restaurant when we visited Montreal. The decor and service were top notch, which was to be expected for the range of pricing though ambiance was a bit too formal for our liking.My plate of foie gras was well plated, but what stole the show was the sea bass which was pan seared to perfection. Even years since we had this meal, we still reminisce about that pan seared fish!
I loved this hotel and restaurant. Upscale and yet low key. The food is amazing. Order the French toast for breakfast, you won’t be sorry.

Great service! We went a little late and it was past the time to order from the full menu. The waiter quickly let us know but helped us pick new dishes out from the after hours menu. We started with a beautiful cheese and wine pairing and then the kitchen sent over a appetizer on the house! My friend and I shared a delightful steak (it was a bit over cooked to be honest). We finished the night with an amazing hazelnut chocolate dessert and a fresh fruit and ice cream dish! Beautiful ambiance and great food. I would go back to try the full menu! How is this place not ranked in the top 10??? The food was incredible. The service was excellent; very friendly and funny. I had the squash soup, which was oh so much more than soup, and the scallops, which had 100 beautiful, subtle flavors. The amuse bouches were delicious as well.
James Le Restaurant is the best restaurant that exists in Montreal at a reasonable price. They are attentive and efficient. They provide the best service and they have a gorgeously decorated establishment. They offer rarities like gold flaked desserts and perfectly cooked filet mignon to your taste. It’s the only place I want to go for my birthday. It’s the only restaurant that deserves special occasions in my opinion. The food is absolutely delicious and when you leave you’ll feel like you ate like royalty. I am in love with this restaurant.
