i had :the dumplings (with squid ink) very good filled with differentfried chicken was so crispy, not too greesy and with a Delicious dippingjapanese curry was also very goodsalom shashimi was fresh and tastyunagi: nope for meoverall great place
The place was good, went for a party with a graduating friend. Arrangements n foods were good.Just that I think they can lower the loud music volume, so it would be easier for us to chat or have conversations with the staff. Otherwise all good.
My friends and I were visiting Montreal and were in the mood for some japanese cuisine. We were not disappointed! The food was top-tier and the waiter and staff were very friendly. Really enjoyed this place! I definitely recommend.
Lovely atmosphere. Plates are small and shared with all at the table. As it was our first visit, server suggested we allow her to make selections for us—after learning any dislikes we may have. She selected perfectly. Everything was delicious. Most surprising was the fried tofu. I eat tofu on occasion and would never have bothered to order it for a nice dinner out. But it was among our server’s selections and it was amazing. We loved all our little plates. Highly recommended.
Wow so much to say, what a incredible PLACE. They have good selection of cocktail and the food was good. We were very please to get serve by Gabriel and William at the bar. They were more than helpful....Gabriel did a amazing job, he made delicious drinks. What a incredible service.... And the manager Stéphanie greet us very well, she was lovely. Amazing place. Highly recommanded. We will come back fore sur.
This place is perfect to bring friends or big groups of people. The interior decoration is lovely and it's not too loud inside. The food is a little too pricey for the serving. Although they serve sushi, I didn't really think that this was their strongest point. The fried items in the menu were much better. Collectively, my friend and I came to the conclusion that the fried chicken was the best thing we had all night and is one of the best chicken we've ever had. It's so tender and flavourful. Definitely the unexpected star of the night.
Mediocre at best. Go somewhere else for dinner. Expensive and small servings - 3 thin pieces of sashimi per serving. Ordered sashimi, a mushroom dish, beef & cheese yakitori, takoyaki, ribs…Cocktails look good on the menu, but aren’t anything special. My friend ordered a high ball and it tasted like water. Disappointed 45 bucks per person and we were still hungry after. Could have gotten much more bang for my buck elsewhere. Wish I had more positive comments to share. Cool decor and ambiance.
the maki rolls were really good! we tried a lot of the things on the menu and our favourite was probably the yakitori chicken and unagi skewers. the agadashi tofu was also very tasty!
New favorite Izakaya in town! Food is out of the chart! Team is awesome, always smiling even with the mask! Mathilde was so nice with us and her recomendation with the menu made the night perfect!
Hanson Izakaya was a great experience while visiting Old Montreal. Wide array of small plates let’s you try a few different things. The bartender, Antony, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He created a great calvados based cocktail on the spot upon request.
