We were looking for lunch at an outdoor spot, and this place served us well. We were seated quickly, and our server spoke English well. Portions were small, but fine for that day. The tacos had creative combinations of ingredients.
All those tacos we ordered were so good! Every ingredient in each taco was super fresh and professionally prepared. The quality and taste of the tacos were on point. I would definitely go back to have other items on the menu!
Went there as a group of 6 and tried the escondite experience. Service and food were in point. The gyoza nachos and the baja tacos were my favorites.
Very tiny, tiny, tasty tacos. The waitress did not explain that these were top of size portions. It did not mention that in the menu either. Literally nothing came with the two tacos they were tiny. My daughter ordered the nachos and they were tasty but definitely not traditional nachos. You would need to order a lot of different items to actually make enough for a meal. Luckily we weren’t that hungry. I had a Mojito it was OK nothing special. A rather expensive dinner for a tiny tiny amount of food.
Tacos weren’t great at all. To be honest very dry and tiny. Not worth it at all. If you drink, make sure you mention what type of alcohol you want or else they’ll charge you 30+ $ per shot because they’re that cheap and service is horrible and slow af. Do yourself one and avoid coming here. Meriem was our waitress and tbh, big disappointment .
The Baja fish tacos were delicious, be advised that nothing else comes with the tacos. Absolutely without a doubt the worst mojito ever, it was undrinkable, the mint was not muddled, zero sweetness and not sure what kind of alcohol they used but it did not taste like a nice rum. Key lime pie??? It comes in a small bowl, more like a pudding, taste was ok, it should not be advertised as pie. Overall a meh experience, we most likely won’t be back…. This was Escondite on Monkland.
Food was excellent. We tried 3 different tacos, and they were all delicious. The service was supper helpfully and we will definitely be returning.
Outstanding food and service. Definitely not your typical Mexican - this establishment goes for quality over quantity. Service by Ana was simply excellent. Attentive and made helpful suggestions. Jeremy too was great. Would definitely return…
Had dinner here a few day ago, food was good but very small portions. I had the tacos , which was 2 tiny ones. Hubby had 5 little pieces of bbq pork ribs. Two tiny corn muffin were $5.00 each. With 2 drinks our bills was over $ 70. Needed to go to McDonalds after eating here. Service was slow. They do have a patio which was nice.
My wife and I loved this restaurant! We were overwhelmed with all of the options and got lucky pulling this one off of a long list. The drinks were really well done, the food was excellent, and the servers and staff even better. If you're reading this to see where you should get food in Montreal, consider this your last review. Stop looking, call and make a reservation.
