July 31, 2022: After the Russell Peters Just For Laughs Gallery, before driving back to Ottawa, my friend and I want to dinner. And we wanted something very Montreal. So we walked over to Dunn's. My platter was a ton of meat. Sometimes with these things I have to ration the meat so I don't run out before I run out of bread. But for this, I made 2 big sandwiches, and then I still had extra meat left over. And the meat slices were thick - Not the usual thin slices I'm used to. It was very hearty! The atmosphere is casual and cozy. At our table there was a newspaper page from 1987 on the wall, with an article that Dunne's, and some cool other crime stories around it.
Visiting Montreal, had to try Dunn's and Schwartz's. I ate at Dunn's twice because it was SO GOOD. The smoked meat was tender and tasty. Schwartz's was good but a bit on the drier side.Enjoyed my meal in the patio. Very relaxing. Excellent fries and slaw. Very filling. Worth the price. Great location, downtown.
Had to compare to Schwartz’s. The actually smoked meat is amazing, super delicious. However everything else lacks quality and flavour. The bread is so so, the coleslaw, potato latkas, and sides are just below bar in general.Very fast service and sit down to eat ratio.
Smoke meat and poutine are amazing. Get the large sandwich.
One of the best smoked meat joints in Montreal. Eating outside at the patio was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly, service was fast and the price was reasonable. Would recommend!
Awesome smoked meat
I am still thinking about this sandwich, a week after having it.This was the best smoked meat sandwich I’ve had. The quality of the meat was incredibly tender and juicy, the flavour of the meat was sublime. In addition, the service was amazing, quick, and friendly.I can not recommend this place enough, it is a must visit when in the area!
It’s a lovely diner style ambiance . They make their burgers on order . This place has really good pecan pies .. the beef patty was great , but the buns were really basic ones. A little small in size compared to other burgers , but great taste.Service was good.
1- Place and restroom were not enough clean.2- Staff are always in Rush, and you need to say anything for several times.3- Foods are delicious 10/10 and very big portions.
Coming to Canada we were recommended to come here because the food was delish. As a foodie of course I took the locals advice and came. HAAAA ..... what a waste of money. 0/10 my “ Grand platter “ wasn’t at all that. Both potato’s were burnt inside/outside with no flavor. My egg rolls looked like mini pizza rolls barely anything on the inside and my cheese sticks ? Lord it look like something for a 3 yr old ANDDD they were burnt too. Gave me 3 sauces that didn’t go with anything on the platter. Also tried their “ FAMOUS JUICY “ pulled meat sandwich. Haha what a joke. Thing was dryer than Sahara desert. Don’t believe the locals lol ?
