Let me start by saying the food was actually finger licking delicious. However the service was beyond poor. We spent 2.45 hours just trying to get food after a long day of exploring Montreal. We had a reservation, despite for the people to sit us and take our order was the first 45 mins. Once the appetizer came we placed our main course order. It took an hour or more for it to come. When we inquired the proprietor went on to say that it was our mistake to not have made the whole order together. I found that disrespectful and rude. When you are in restaurant business customer service matters as much as the quality of food. The space was very small and literally people and utensils were fully crammed into the tiny space.Lastly the area this place is located in was not an area for families.Overall I am disappointed despite the fact that the food was good.

Truly the best Indian food and dining experience I've had in a long time. The food was AMAZING (price point is also very reasonable), the atmosphere was relaxing and our server, the restaurant owners' son, was extremely personable. He took time to explain the dishes to us and even shared stories of the restaurant and the inspiration behind the dishes. It's very apparent how much love and care they put into their food and customers' dining experience. Easily my favourite restaurant in Montreal now. 11/10 Must try!!

I think this place is doing an amazing job. The chef is really good and puts passion in what he does; chapeau. The place is small so only a handful of people can fit. Service is impeccable. Definitely quality food. There is always room for improvement, like the place itself although pretty impressed with the food. Some wine varieties are also available. Verdict : definitely give it a try.

Darbar has a very charming interior, and offers some cool booths for small groups (low to the ground). The staff (hostess and waiter) were both super pleasant, and had a good sense of humour. But the most important part? The food was exceptional. The onion bhaji were super fresh and crisp. The Dahl tarka was savoury and warming. I couldn't have asked for a nicer meal!

Best butter chicken ever and I'm from Toronto and thought Mississauga or Brampton has the best. We ordered last minute to our hotel and on our next visit to Montreal will be sure to visit the restaurant

I have never had food in an Indian restaurant where at the end of the dinner my plate was clean because I left nothing in the plate. Delicious food and perfect portions. Don't miss the garlic butter naan. Their thali is perfectly sized for one person and is well balanced. Loved it.

I lack the words to truly capture how phenomenal the food here is. Every dish had a wonderful mix of flavors – sweet mixed with spice, mixed with heat – your taste buds won't believe what's happening. An incredible amount of attention and detail has gone into each dish, and the owner (Simar) coming to each table to serve and explain each one himself. Don't even get me started on the mixed drinks and tea options! Definitely recommend everyone to come here. You won't be disappointed.

Expérience unique! Le meilleur resto indien à Montréal! Service excellent et plats incroyables!

Amazing experience. We were travelling from Toronto, missing Indian food … this place was beyond expectations! Best naan we ever had. You GOT to try their Lassi in the Big Heavy Brass Glass! Ambience is superb. Highly recommend calling in before to check for spots as the place is little tight and is usually occupied but truly worth the visit. From the owner to the staff - beautiful people! Staff really runs it as their own and that speaks volumes! Highly recommended!

Tous les plats sont goûteux et épicés à souhaits!…La Qualité est au rendez vous…
