Being brought up by immigrant parents who sacrificed their stable income in their home countries, I do have a have soft for restaurants whose workers/owners remind me of my parents. However, despite being a bit biased, I still think Dak Hing Barbecue and Épicerie à Lam Kee have the best Beijing BBQ duck in Montreal. The skin is crispy, the meat is juicy and well seasoned. The char siu is good too but not out of this world. Their sticky rice dumplings are also okay but I prefer the ones from Buffet Chinois Restaurant Jade. Only caveat would be the price of one duck for 43$, not sure if something is going on in the local duck market or if inflation is hitting extra hard but in 2015-2016 one duck cost a little less than 25$...

Very, very delicious ! Hands down the best BBQ pork and duck in the city. Small place, no room for sitting, but very clean. Fast service, friendly and good prices. You can also buy the meat by pound :) definitely recommend to try (BUT be aware they only take cash)

It's not a 5 star because of it's dine in experience, it is a 5 star because of the food and the speed of service. Cash only so don't line up without any on hand.

Incredibly good BBQ! Would highly recommend. The workers here are the sweetest. Food is incredible. Place deserves all its high remarks. Would highly recommend. Place is cash only.

Wow, the fried rice and pork Pata is still the best. For years, if we visits Montreal, we always get our lunch in this restaurant, with the best fried rice and crispy Pata.

This place came highly recommended as one of the top BBQ places in Montreal. Their reviews are also quite high on Google. However I was a little bit disappointed as I think I expected too much from the highly positive reviews. The BBQ duck is pretty good. That I got to give it to them but at $30, it is pretty expensive. The roasted pork was actually not bad if you get the good part but their BBQ Pork was not great as it felt more like partly boiled BBQ and also the pieces were too big. Overall, I would said yes it is one of the better places but I guess since I am used to the better BBQ places in the GTA, I can't help but feel a little bit disappointed but I know there is hope that one day, my family can have fantastic Chinese BBQ. I think Dak Hing is getting there. Keep up the good work

Very amazing barbeque! I tried grilled pork and roasted duck and they tasted so much better than other barbeques in Chinatown.

Good food!

The glutenous rice with coconut milk is amazing!! Also good food, especially for the price.

Reminder: Cash Only!Tiny takeout spot with authentic HK style BBQ meats. They have a couple of meat over rice options for anyone looking for a quick and cheap meal. All the food sets are very reasonably priced.Tried the char siu, sausage and roast pork and all three were spot on flavorwise.Definitely the go-to Chinese BBQ spot in the neighborhood.
