At first glance I was not particularly impressed by the restaurant. Upon viewing the menu… the steak caught my eye.As the food came, I was extremely impressed, a mouth watering dish to say the least. A simple side dish such as a green salad has both the views and the love for an incredible tasty salad. The reason I will be providing a 3 star review was merely because of the service. The waiter was extremely inconsiderate and at times impolite to our table. As for the cost; it was not particularly bad although I would say is is on the more expensive side of food.
So much seafood, so much deliciousness. My gf and I love coming here for special occasions.ps: You must taste de Natas Du Ciel dessert. It's amazing!
super endroit, bonne ambiance et menu diversifié.
Lovely evening at Casa Minhota! The ambiance was lovely, not too loud and very friendly server. The food was great, especially the shrimp as an appetizer. However I wish they offered some good cocktail options!
We stopped in after a concert and walking by around 10 at night the place was very busy. The waiter came to us and promised to get us seated. A couple of minutes later, we were at a very comfortable table. My spouse saw a plate that appealed to her at the table next to us and she asked the waiter what it was. ... seafood rice. We asked for that and for 2. The waiter promised also that he will take care of the wine. When he returned, his wine selection was spot on. Then we received each a very good salad, a bowl of succulent olives, and a basket of portuguese bread. Then the seafood rice dish happened . Rice in a tasty seafood broth loaded with: --scallops --shrimps --oysters --clams --mussels --squid --calamari --langoustines --a whole lobster Then, dessert, coffee and port. And best of all, the well known portuguese hospitality!!! We had the greatest meal in a long time, seafood well prepared in a wonderful restaurant with superb staff and clients too!!! The surprise ending the evening at 1 in the morning.... the bill was small. This is surprisingly GREAT VALUE for the food and service. We will return and big thanks to all. Thank you.
Always feel welcome, great food, amazing service. Very friendly staff. My go to for authentic Portuguese dining for more than 30 years!!
Great place for traditional Portuguese dishes. I especially enjoyed the seafood platter which had a tomato based sauce. The sardines were my family’s favourite dish.
This Portuguese restaurant has been around for a very long time and there's a reason for it. The owners are there all the time, the husband waiting on tables and his wife cooking great food to serve you. They serve great Portuguese food from paella, chicken, beef, and seafood. I had the seafood platter (amazing) and my wife had the filet mignon with shrimps (melts in you mouth). They also have imported Portuguese wines that you can't find elsewhere. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. If you haven't tried this restaurant yet give them a call and make a reservation.
Perfection. Portuguese Food and service are the best in Montréal.
Recommended! Some of the dishes were excellent, some a little lacking. Loved the ambience, old world/traditional comfort... With tablecloths. Unpretentious, pleasant service. The value for the money was there. The menu was traditional, but varied - first time seeing picanha on the menu of a Portuguese restaurant. The grilled sardines was a standout, and my kids loved the "Portuguese chicken". Will have to go back to try the paella. House wine was decent, at a very fair price (but was hoping for the magic that happens in Portugal).
