The chicken sandwich was delicious, it had much more flavour than other piri piri chicken that I've had (like Nando's). You can tell that it has been marinated. And the Portuguese papo seco buns were so good. The only downside is that it was a bit expensive at $15 for the combo with fries and salad. And an extra $2 for a drink.
Busy Portuguese chicken place, an offshoot of the Ferreira family of restaurants.I ordered ahead on the website, quick and easy, and I suggest you do the same to beat the lineups. They text you when your order is ready, and off you go.Although I was told on several occasions that the sandwiches were great, I felt like a salad, so I got one with sweet potatoes and kale. It was good, I'm glad I got dark meat. It was tasty, not too fatty or full of chewy cartilage, so that's great. The dressing was delicious and creamy. I had a chicken croquette on the side with mustard, excellent.Portion size is fine for lunch, I wasn't scrounging around for chicken pieces in my bowl. Price is fine, a little over 20 bucks with tax and tip. Will definitely try the sandwich next time!
This is how poutine should be. Locally sourced grain fed chicken supposedly, its roasted in piri piri. Well it was delicious, with ham and the fries area fresh and not at all greasy.I'd eat poutine more if I could get more like this. Chicken n chips done Quebec style. So much better.
We arranged to meet friends here, and is just right given that they have a child to think about. The menu is limited but the chicken was excellent. Friendly service too.
I got the sweet potato bowl and a kombucha from the fridge for $22. Overall it's a decent spot to grab a quick lunch downtown. The chicken was tender and flavorful just not particularly memorable. The portion was also average and the other ingredients in the bowl (seeds, dried fruit etc.) were sparse. Not bad, just not very good compared to other places downtown.
My favorite Montreal secret.Created by the chef that also has a much more fine dining restaurant around the corner, Campo knows what it's about: the most tender and delicious Portuguese chicken in town. Hard to go wrong from the sandwich, poutine, or even just sharing half a chicken. And don't forget to end things on a strong note of a Tarte de Nata (best I've had outside of Portugal).A must visit for those looking for good, simple food at a fair price.
Had the Chicken Sandwich today. $15.00 for a large, stale bun with some chicken on it and some sauce. Not a lot of chicken I'd guess 4 oz? Not impressed, expected more for that price. Can't vouch for the other meals, this is mainly a chicken sandwich review
We loved Campo. Fresh food, great chicken.
Always excellent. Their portugese chicken poutine is probably the best around. Last time I went I tried one of their salad for lunch. It was awesome!
Campo has very good Portuguese chicken but I was dissatisfied and surprised when I ordered corn protein salad and received it half full - I paid full price for it and I expected the quantity to be generous . I called and was told that for delivery orders they reduce the quantity which is not right ! Be careful when you order thru uber I know for a fact I won’t order from there anymore
