Great cafe. The macchiatos were smooth and delicious and the croissant was excellent. The owner is very friendly and is living his dream. A must stop if you like authentic Italian espresso.

Really good coffee and hot chocolate and the owner is very polite and friendly. Definitely one of the best place town

I can see this place has a very good rating and mostly positive reviews. This is why I decided to try their coffee when I was walking around the old port, but unfortunately I have to rate them based on what I experienced.I asked the barista, who was really friendly, do you have cortado? He said yes. But as he was making it, I knew it wasn't going to be good. It was just pressed coffee and lot of milk. I couldn't taste the coffee at all.To be fair, most of the cafes I have been to in Montreal make bad cortado, and honestly I don't understand why they serve it. If you don't know how to make cortado or piccolo, please stick to the basics (esspresso, macchiato and cappuccino). The second star is for the friendly service.

I went there this morning expecting get a sandwich , I say hello in French, but the girl answered me in English, I thought that because I looks Asian so she did not realized that I speak French very well,so I ordered a sandwich Le mix, a croissant jambon sandwich and a chocolate croissant in French, she still answered me in English, this time I guess she does not speak French, so I was waiting in the line, but then this time she have a big smile and spoke fluently in French with the gentleman that was served in front of me, I felt discriminated, the worst is that she handed me my order but she fail to give me the croissant au jambon and give me the bill because another gentleman is in line after meIs she priorities gentleman over lady? I have the feeling that she flirting with gentleman customer3 start is for the food,But 0 for the service because of the rudeness of the cashier

Simply amazing! Great coffee, even greater service, genuine meaningful conversation with lots of knowledge for coffee and ways to prepare it.Thank you Mercanti for the experience!

Amazing coffee shop, I’m a difficult person when it comes to coffee but this place deserves a 10 out of 5 star. It’s even more pleasant when Christine is present with her good humour and her contagious smile

beautiful decoration in the store , loft design , so alive and great coffee

Love the coffee here, and I've supported this Old Port location since they opened a few years ago. However, what I experienced today has guaranteed that I will never return. I really wanted a Mercanti coffee this afternoon, badly enough that I forced my 2 young children (and small puppy) to walk 30 min to get one. Once we got there, though, I realized I had forgotten my mask at home. I'm double vaccinated but I respected the policy enough to not enter. I sent my 8 year old in with $5 and mouthed to the person at the cash from outside to please give my child the coffee since I don't have a mask. The man said No. Since I didn't have a mask -- even though I WAS NOT EVEN INSIDE -- he didn't want to give my son the coffee so that I can drink it outside. Why?? I didn't realize you needed a mask to drink a coffee outside of an establishment. I'm so glad that Cafe Olympico opened only a few blocks away. I did the same thing there and there wasn't any problem. In fact the person at the cash was kind enough to bring the coffee to me at the door since he realized I had two small kids and looked desperate for a coffee.

Such a wonderful cafe and amazing service! My friend and I visited the cafe and we each enjoyed a delicious prosciutto sandwich. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He even went out of his way to make us each a sample of espresso to try. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Amazing coffee! Great service! The owner has helped accommodate our drinks, definitely recommend this place
