We arrived quite close to closing time, on a Monday evening, when few restaurants are open. The service was cheerful and helpful (I was alerted to possibly ordering too much food, which was very much appreciated). My sopa de pollo was absolutely delicious, and the meal size was really filling. They offered to bring more corn chips without being prompted. My husband ate every morsel of his beef tortilla. We both appreciated the spices therein and the care that was taken to prepare our food.Just an aside, the washroom was super clean and painted with a funky motif. All in all, a worthwhile find that won't hurt your pocketbook.

Wow, the freshness of the food and the amount of food and the price. What a gem place. Came with friends and had a blast here.I had the chicken tacos with rice and beans, my friends had an awesome burrito and quesadillas. They had a margarita as well and got some chips and salsa. Yum, wish they were closer so we can have it more often, but likely will have to do another trip to get again in the near future.

We had the burrito, tacos and enchilada, chips and salsa and Margarita's. Excellent food and friendly atmosphere. 1st night in Montreal and we made an excellent choice. Thank you!

Ordered a carnitas burrito to go. Service was quick, polite, & friendly. Burrito was ok but light on fillings. And definitely not enough food to fill you up if your thinking of a standard size burrito.

Don't be misled. This is French bistro techniques applied to California Mexican cuisine. Emphasis on preparation and ingredients, flavors over spices, quality over price. If not too busy, ask chef about breakfast burrito or inspiration of the day. Variety of inspired frozen take out options to go.

NO ES MEXICANA. ((ALSO they ignore anglophones)) I was so offended by how inauthentic it was, the waiter refused to just give me a quesadilla-he insisted that I should have it with SWEET POTATOES and KALE inside???! When I said I just wanted a quesadilla with cheese and jalapeños, he still insisted that I should have it whitewashed?. Salsa wasn’t spicy and food was wayyy overpriced. AND after telling the server I was Mexican, he mansplained fajitas to me…never again!?

Finally had the opportunity to visit Cafe Cantina and I found it excellent! I have been looking for this kind of authentic food and friendly service. Enchiladas and Pork Tacos we very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!

Lol, no. This place is not authentic. I’m sorry, but the chips don’t taste fresh. The salsa tasted like ketchup. I paid 8$ for the smallest containers of guacamole.

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

The experience was great: great food, great taste, and great service. We took guacamole with some nachos, normal and deep fried tacos and an a-w-e-s-o-m-e quesadilla.
