Super delicious Cod, the tar tar sauce was delicious, and the “chips” were super crispy and delicious. The staff were super accommodating to tourists like myself, who don’t speak French, which was super nice.Definitely recommend visiting this place!
You haven’t been to Great Britain if you haven’t had their Fish & Chips (“ C’est un incontournable”). Many fish & chips shops offer their traditional dish served in newspapers, as I recall. My craving took me to Brits & Chips which captures that traditional dish. I ordered, for take out, one of the popular fish on the menu, Cod in a Burgundy Lion Ale Batter. If you are not calorie counting, then you would also indulge in their fries. I stopped short of my temptation to order the fries, even at just an additional $2. This would have otherwise put me to sleep, let alone feeling guilty afterwards. The beer battered fish is indeed epic, fried to perfection, with the right amount of flavour, perhaps lacking saltiness for some, but just right for me. Crunchy batter and juicy fish - It feels like eating high end, while still enjoying the greasy delights of fried battered fish.Good thing that I did not order fries, as the fish portion was large enough for my lunch. It comes with a generous piece of lemon and a tartare/mayo sauce.Once the calories wear off and cravings come back, I will perhaps go for the fries.
So delicious, fresh and hot! The fish has a perfectly crisp and light batter and the pieces of haddock, the fries are thick and hearty. Worth the visit. When one falls short of adjectives to explain how good the food tastes. Had a lot of fish n chips back in Nova Scotia but this little place scores the among highest for me. Thanks for the warm welcome to delicious food and value for money meal. Will for sure visit again.
It’s my first time trying fish and chips. Their food was great. They put a generous portion of everything. Can’t forget the good service that we got !
Very oily and salty. Beer was awesome. Portion is good. Price is also ok and at a very nice location. The space is cramped and avoid table near the restroom.
Very fresh, great fish and chips! Small dine in, eating along the counter but great restaurant
A must to go to,we've been there 2 times now,and never disappointed.the staff are so amazing on the weekends..I have Finally found the best fish n chips I've ever had in my life, and my beloved irn-bru
Had to try the fish and chips but the vegetarian version for today. It was surprisingly very delicious! It has a chipotle batter which I usually don't care for but this particular didn't taste too much and it was an amazing accompaniment to the tofu inside. We tartar sauce along with the "fish" didn't agree with my taste buds but I was given a different sauce courtesy of the cook and it was much better for me. It was a curry mayonnaise based sauce and super creamy and delicious.I need to go again to try the other fish and actually have some chips! They even had a place in the menu for a kebab and definitely want to give that a go
Delicious and well made fish and chips with generous portions compared to many other locations. Fish was still cripsy after delivery.- 1 star because the restaurant got one of our order items wrong.Overall recommended
It was for sure the best fish and chips I've had in Montréal so far. I wished they had halibut but I got the cod instead and it was still pretty good, two nice big pieces of flakey cod served with handcut kennebec style fries with a side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was basic and didn't justify the extra cost, it was cabbage and carrots in a vinegar base. The availability of malt vinegar and hot sauce was much appreciated. The fries were extra greasy but a little sweet and very much in a basic form, great for adjusting with salt and pepper to your taste. Unfortunately the great dining experience was followed the next day by 2/3 from our table with indigestion and nausea, I suspect from the extra greasy fries or perhaps the coleslaw as the other diner didn't order slaw for themselves. Wait staff were friendly and the dining area was comfortable and approachable especially for a late-night dinner. I'm comparing the seafood quality to what I've had at seaside accomodations so I have a strong bias, but it wasn't terrible for someone craving good old fish and chips.
