We dined here as a couple of 2 this week and had a very good experience. The service was excellent, The server was super lovely and attentive, definitely a highlight of our experience. We ate a salad and both had steak (different cuts). We wanted oysters but they were out of these, as well as 2 other dishes, which I thought was a bit strange. The salad was good, a touch much dressing. The steaks were lovely also. Crème brûlée was very good.
Good service and nice menu, good quality of the meals. Nice atmosphere in this restaurant, would recommend it blindly if it wasn’t that expensive.
Came here for brunch on a Saturday. It was a little busy but not too bad! We were seated at the bar. Our bartender was so young but so sweet. We taught him the ways of DC brunch and how to make a DC mimosa - 90% champagne and 10% juice! I got the chicken and waffles which were delicious and the fruit was perfect. Only reason for 4 stars is that they could have used another bartender as there were times we had to wait a bit for drink refills. But overall, fun experience!
We wanted to try a French restaurant while in Montreal and we were not disappointed! Our server Sophie was fantastic. She was very attentive and had great suggestions for our meals. She also made us feel as if we were her only table. Thanks Sophie! All of the food was very good and the duck confit was the best I've ever had! The prices were reasonable for such good food and exceptional service. We will definitely had back the next time we visit Montreal!
The food was tasty and good value for the money but the service was very slow. Our dessert was forgotten or taken by another server so it was about a 40 minute wait for the creme brí»lée. They recognized their mistake and comped the dessert but I would have preferred to have the time back instead.

The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is the shining point. Our waitress was good. The bar and support staff was excessively loud. For the first 30 minutes we were there, there was an almost constant, loud noise from Lids slamming or utensils being thrown and dropped. The charcuterie board and oysters were acceptable as were the main courses. The lobster risotto was above average. The flank steak and duck confit were average. Overall, a nice experience but not exceptional.
Cela était ma troisième visite í la brasserie 701 en 3 ans. Cette fois-si j'ai été déçu de mon expérience (brunch)...je constate qu'ils ont modifié leur offre lors du brunch qui m'a laissé sur ma faim. Avant la covid-19, il proposait pour le brunch de miniature vinoiseries avec quels fruits avant le repas commandé....ce n'est plus cas. Mon plat était froid (oeuf bénédictine). Le lieu est toujours magnifique mais été moins propre au moment de notre visite (samedi). Cela sera ma dernière fois car il y a des restaurants qui proposent une offre plus intéressant pour le brunch que la Brasserie 701
Beautiful place with great service. Food looks amazing but a few things could be better. Avocado toast is thick, cold and not toasted. Potatoes a little bit too salty for my taste.
The chef needs to learn how to properly season a salmon tartare but other than that it was very good
