The jerk chicken and the oxtail plates were great! The boom juice is also a must try. Portions are generous. It tastes authentic and the employees add a nice vibe to the place. I will be back ! Next time I will have to try the Roti or the stewed goat!
I've never really had jerk chicken that my made me go "WOW, this is so good!!!" until now. I can't speak to the "authenticity" but it's a new favorite, for sure. If you're looking for flavor, it's here.
I’ll be coming back here for sure. I tried Boom J’s for the first time right now and this food is incredible ?? I couldn’t wait to write a review. I can’t believe I never tried this restaurant even though I passed it many times. My only criticism was the man in the front was not friendly, which is why I rated 4 stars. God bless the cook. I could tell the food was made with love. ???
Crazy good jerk with crazy good people in there ! Thank you for the amazing meal and vibe ! I’m now craving your chicken all the time !!!
Grand opening for new location for Boom J's second location on 6244 Monk! Decor is on point with a cool new Jamaican vibe and authentic cuisine and fruits! This is the best Jerk chicken in town ... a Montréal must which is going to keep you coming back for MORE! Thank you for the fresh coconut juice straight from the coconut tree! Def a slice of heaven!!!
Boom J’s is by far the best Jerk Chicken in Montreal!! The drum BBQ in front of the restaurant is a classic and really gives you the feeling of the islands. The chicken was moist, chargrilled to perfection! The jerk seasoning is right down to the bone and the sauce has the right amount of sweet and heat. Leaves you wanting more and I will always go back to support!!!
Boom Js is not just amazing tasting food but comunity presence and an outstanding catering service. Super punctual, kept piping hot and delivered with flexibility and grace. Love Boom Js!
I had the curry goat, it was so good I wish I could eat it everyday. The worker was nice too, very helpful and kind. Dishes and drinks were great. Food was made perfectly, wouldn’t change a thing.
The food was good enough. However, as a Jamaican, I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It did not taste like authentic Jamaican food. I got the curried goat, and the potatoes had just been chopped in two. The plantains were also fried crisp. We don't do that. I tried a patty as well in order to decide if I would buy a box of 25 to go, but it was not tasty at all. It was really dry and the filling was...questionable.
Their goat rotis are great. Not oily like some other places I've had rotis. Little on the salty side but still excellent. It's the plantains that were horrible. They were like starchy and rubbery. They weren't ripped before frying. I make them had home and wait till they are black before frying. I will order the rotis but skip the plantains.
