Very good and the service was friendly ! I had the coquille Saint Jacques ! Very tasty
Not a good place for a special event. I was disappointed from the beginning.I was sat next to the stairs, although the upstairs wasn't occupied, my view was a dirty carpet. That corner is crammed.after being seated and looking at the menu for five minutes, we waited over 20 for someone to come take our order. there were plenty of opportunities for the server to come and take our order.I order the calamari. it came way to quick, so I doubt it was made fresh. its was mediocre. The pasta was disappointing, its a decent portion. The past was bland, the sauce didn't really stick to the pasta.the sauce was good but was watery.
This one of the worst restaurant to come to for supper on a Sunday nightWe arrived at 6:45 and it now 8:30 and still have not been servedThe waitress told us they prioritize the large groupsAnd it will be at least another 20 minutes before we get served. We had no utensils and had to ask for themThen we had ask for the napkins tooOur sodas were served in small coffee cups as they told us they had no glasses.
We were there on Saturday night and the food was amazing. A special mention for Dimitra (the hostess) who went out of her way to accommodate us and for Mimi (the waitress) whose service was excellent! Will be back for sure!
So the waitress was amazing, the food was ok. The problem was they were out of food and the manager, should learn how to keep his customers happy and keep them coming back. He had no customers service experience ? ?. We were a large group and will not be going back.
On Sunday, I was able to have the most amazing space to share with my family and friends for my bridal shower. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious, and every single person who works there is hands down the nicest, kindest, and most competent I have seen. The wait staff and the head chef went above and beyond to accommodate for my food allergy and made me feel well taken care of.Whether for an event or a night out, L'academie Laval would be a great choice!Thank you again everyone for helping make my day a success!
Dad’s 80th birthday Booked L’Academie for my Dad’s birthday. The staff was great from start to finish. Thumbs up for food service and atmosphere. Bring your own wine is perfect to have good wine for a good price Thanks to our waiter Martin and George!!!!
Early Saturday night dinner, arriving at 4pm in the afternoon, with no reservation. There were plenty tables available. Went with the specials chicken and lamb that came with salad or soup as an appetizer, plus we got the fried calamari with is delicious, fresh and piping hot from the oil. For dessert coffee and chocolate del leche cake, sad tho the cake looks so yummy but was a little dry. Overall was good experience but the atmosphere was nice and with a byob ?. Will be back for sure.
Things started off well with the entrees but the main courses were a disaster. The filet of sole tasted like frozen fish smothered in sauce. We sent back one pasta dish and had it replaced with another equally terrible pasta dish. The only good thing was the server!
I went to l’Academie years ago and wasn’t impressed. We decided to give it another try since it’s under new management and we’re pleasantly surprised. Wonderful service, very attentive. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. Ambiance was very nice. It’s also a bring your own wine, so you can have a fine dining experience with out brewing the bank.Highly recommended and we look forward to visiting again soon.
