I found it funny that people say this place is expensive, especially since many say that during the pandemic when most places jacked up their prices to simply survive. Going out for ice cream is a treat, a luxury for some so of course it’s not cheap. (I would rather complain about Starbucks’ prices.) Pineault is known for their gelatos, frozen yogurts and variety of flavour so I found this one interesting too: "that’s not real ice cream. I know the industry and this is milk, sugar and water ". If you know the industry, you should know that many ice cream shops switched to "fake" ice cream 30 years ago to save and build profits. Even big chains like Pizza Hut’s sunday bar are serving very fake ice cream. Newsflash: Pineault is not serving traditional ice cream! They specialize in what I mentionned above. The flavours they offer are indeed average because their branding isn’t about exceptional taste, it’s about how many you can choose from and combine. I didn’t know they rejected men to work there… No, that is not fine by me. Unfortunately, still too many restaurants choose their candidates according to race and gender to preserve an image.
