Takes a while to get your order so bring ypur own wine or beer to wait food is great

Good food good price and friendly people

Without a doubt, the BEST Asian restaurant in the entire Ottawa-Gatineau area!!! Their specialty dish is the Lemon Grass Beef: made with the freshest of ingredients, AAA top cut beef and 8 different kinds of vegetables, the marinade for this dish made me scrape every last piece of food from my plate. Their pad thai and imperial rolls were also the best I have had in the National Capital Region. Centrally located close to downtown Ottawa with ample free parking, foodies who are searching for a truly authentic Asian culinary experience must goto Saigon Thai!!!

Delicious. Generous portions. Fresh, fragrant and hot. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Our wait time was very reasonable but we arrived for 5:00 PM, maybe that's the secret. Make a reservation, restaurant was full as per covid protocols. Don't forget to bring your own wine/beer as they don't have a liquor license.I highly recommend.

After work one evening I opted to order takeout from Saigon Thai rather than my usual Chinese food from the very good Maison Szechuan around the corner. I ordered a small Tonkinese soup (pho), a small wonton soup, 2 imperial rolls, a shrimp Pad Thai and a lemongrass beef dish. Now I’m old enough to have eaten at hundreds of Thai and Vietnamese restaurants in different parts of the world and those cuisines rank in my top 5 favourites. I’m rightfully suspicious of fusion restaurants but I’d long been meaning to try Saigon Thai. I placed the order with the woman on the phone and rather than repeat it back to me she hemmed and hawed and finally said “You have too many small soup”. I’d never heard that before and I thought it was perhaps a language issue. We went back and forth for close to two minutes me asking why I can’t order two appetizer soups when that’s what we want. I am after all the customer and I’ll determine what I want. She said that “perhaps you want to order a large soup” in a way that made me think of gangster films. It was the strangest exchange I can remember having. It’s important to understand that the prices here are somewhat higher than most such eateries and my order, with tax, was approximately $70.00. That’s up there for a Tuesday night take-away. I finally said, “I’m the customer and that’s what we want to eat.” She finally let it spill when she replied, “My boss say you don’t order enough food “. Well that’s clear enough and definitely qualifies as a “Wow”. I told her I wouldn’t be ordering anything and hung up. There’s no reason on earth to give a business like this your custom. It’s certainly a very suspect way to run your business and I just get a bad feeling when dealing with people who think this way.

Everything is fresh, fragrant and hot. Portions are generous. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Other reviews mention slow service but our wait time was very reasonable. Maybe our 5PM reservation is the secret. Restaurant filled quickly and they were turning people away. Their take-out service is also very popular. Don't forget to bring your own wine/beer as they don't have a liquor license. I highly recommend.

Had reservations for 6;30 and our we received our entree at 8;00 and our main course at 8;30. The food is great; however, the service is very very very poor. On another note, bring a sweater or jacket because it is very cold in the restaurant.

Ok, so you gotta wait for the food…like really wait for a while if you’re dining in and they did tell us this which is awesome! that being said it’s probably some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had so if you have time and patience this place is great

I was just here to order a Chicken Fried Rice but decided not to complete my order. The lady at the counter was extremely rude. Almost threw the credit car machine at me and before that when i asked her if they had chicken fried rice she said “uhhh? “ in such an ugly way as if she hayed to be there. I know not everyone has their dream job but owners and managers need to at least make sure that their customers will be treated with courtesy. I was not willing to pay for rudeness in return. I was here on Thursday 23 Sep at 6:30 pm

Was in town for a festival and came for dinner here. They have a nice vegetarian menu. My girlfriend and I ended up ordering Vegetarian fried rice and the lemon grass tofu. The food was so so, not really authentic Thai food to be honest but the flavour was nice. The atmosphere was beautiful and well presented but they did have some Chinese decorations on the wall that I saw, not sure why they had it since it is a Thai restaurant. The hostess who sat my girlfriend and myself at the table needs to keep politics out about COVID as well..Even if with vaccine passports being done in Quebec, I respect the system since it helps people stay safe and the virus from spreading. If you make a comment that it is troublesome using the system, please remember you might run into someone who actually has had someone who passed away from it.
