Lovely atmosphere, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was delicious. We sampled several of the appetizers and they were all exceptional. The sommelier was very personable and his suggestions were excellent. We had a delightful evening.
We travelled from British Columbia and met friends for dinner in Gatineau. They recommended La Squadra and we had a wonderful evening there. The restaurant is casually elegant and tastefully decorated. The maitre d'hotel, Francis, created a signature Manhatten that was fabulous, and also provided excellent suggestions for wine. The beef carpaccio and saumon tartare melted in our mouths, and I was persuaded to try escargot which was served in a mild curry sauce. To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it! My main course was veal with lemon, and it was delicious. I can't say enough about our experience at La Squadra and highly recommend it to anyone looking for beautifully prepared and innovative Italian food, and an evening to remember.
The restaurant was surprising. I mean, Google recommends it to me regularly, but I dismiss it because it just doesn’t seem like the kind of neighbourhood or general location that would have the kind of restaurant that the reviews and photos promise. This time I gave in because it seemed like the best option in the area of the activities planned for the evening. The moment we walked in, I was awed by the atmosphere. Very chic. And we hadn’t been there five minutes before the waitress offered to send their sommelier over to help with the wine selection. Shortly after that, I went to wash my hands. Even the bathroom was fancy. There were like six different kinds of fancy hand soap to choose from. The service was impeccable. The food was outstanding. It made me sad that we were the only ones there in the entire place, because this is a serious dining experience, and I’d hate to see this place go out of business.
I would rather throw my money In The drain than go to that place . I never wrote a review about a restaurant before but I feel like I need to..…. the food was tasteless ( needs more flavour) it was just salty and oilyFood way too over priced for the qualityI think they were trying to create a fancy restaurant but nothing is fancy about it …One positive thing I have to say is the staff was very friendly and helpful
