This place is a joke. I paid extra to change my rice for noodles and they put me a spit in size. Barely even enough for one fork. Disgusting, never going back again and I will make sure no one I do neither. 0/10 I would have give if I could.
The shrimp wonton soup had no taste and wasn’t fresh at all. The fried calamari was very hard to chew, didn’t have taste so I asked for a lemon and they didn’t have any..
I ordered the large won ton soup as well as the Chinese chicken curry, both were freshly made and super tasty, I look forward to trying more of their dishes.
We have been there many times, and each time we have complained about they're air conditioning system. They constantly keep it cold and have a super fan that keeps you cold. When complaining to the waiter, he made like he could not hear us, or understand the English language. We complained to the manager ( one of the sisters who own the place), she made an effort to do something about the temp. and wind blowing through the ceiling ducts. However several minutes later it was the same. Our meal came and the vegies were so cold that we sent them back and he reluctantly brought us one plate to replace the cold vegies, for 6 people at the table, It didn't take long for the rice also to turn cold from the artic wind coming from the air system. We complained again, but it fell on deaf ears. The staff were all wearing long sleeve tops, so I guess they know how it feels to work in that place. Too bad because we have been going there for many years, but it depends who is working that day. Not happy
We ordered a number of dishes and the consensus was the same- watery and bland. Chicken fried rice was neither fried nor was there very much chicken. The dish was basically rice, a tiny bit of egg, very little chicken and and no flavor, almost a beige color. We could barely tell the difference between the Sweet and Sour Chicken and the General Tao cicken. They were both coated with a cloyingly sweet sauce...I neve saw redish pink General Tao before, no spice to it, no sesame seed. Both dishes were more overcooked batter than chicken. Beef with Chinese Broccoli did not have the usual garlicky flavor, no garlic, no salt and no taste and very watery. Chinese ribs were more fat than meat and watered down, not good. Chicken Chow Mein noodles were rubbery and bland, did not seem to have even passed over a wok, straight from the water...and again, bland and watery with very little vegetables. The worst of it were the Peanut Butter Dumplings, I thought there was a mistake when I saw the tiny container for 8 dumplings! They were all 8 in there, each about the size of a large grape. They were defintely not drained before being put into the penaut butter sauce as it was very diluted, watery, overcooked and tasteless and the most unappetizing of all the dishes. Will NOT EVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!
Service fast and good. But the food was extremely flavorless. The wonton noodle soup had very little taste. The shrimp wonton had no taste.\\nThe beef chow fun had flavor on the noodles but the beef had absolutely no flavor.\\nI don't want extreme salt neither. Just good flavor.\\n\\nMaybe the chef changed. Very sad.
I had a terrible meal here, would not go back. We chose 4 dishes, all of which were supposed to be "spicy", with a pimiento next to them on the menu. I also asked specifically if the eggplant Thai Style was spicy, and the waiter said yes, it was spicy. They were not. They were all bland, spices barely noticeable. When the waiter asked how the food was, I said it wasn't very spicy, he said "Your mouth would burn..." So this restaurant caters to a clientele which it assumes, rightly or wrongly, does not actually want spicy food. Maybe try insisting that they make it very, very spicy if you actually do like spicy Asian food, otherwise bland is what you will get. Worth a try. As for decor, really plain. At least it is cheap and you get a lot of (bland) food for the price...
I really have nothing good to say about my meal. I ordered 2x the General Tao with vegtables and rice. The spring rolls tasted like foul mush. The vegtables were bland and the rice was like cardboard. As for the chicken, it was not spicey, not sweet and definitely not good. Every piece was nothing but fat and grissel.\\nI will never go back and to be honest, one star is too.much.
Ordered General Tao combo and Imperial rolls as appetizer\\n\\nThe fried rice in the combo was absolutely flavorless and bland. I tried adding soy sauce to it but it still tasted so bad. The general tao chicken was ok\\nThe vegetarian rolls looked dark as the vegetables were totally burnt on the inside. It tasted very funny and I had to spit it out\\n\\nOverall very disappointed with the whole order and I will not order from from Wok Cafe again
Food was great and staff was super kind! Everything was also very well packaged! I highly recommend the thai seafood fried rice!
