There's a great amount of choice on their menu, perhaps too many options though. The quality of the food (I had the lamb platter) was poor.. Lamb was small, more fat than meat, fries dry and too salty, and the salad left a lot to be desired... what really did it was having to make my own dressing.
Yesterday went there for an early lunch I was alone in the dining room around 11:30 , I hate to put down a restaurant but for my first time there well I was unimpressed !! I ad a super sandwich and for a smoke meat place it's the first time I eat a smoke meat sliced this thick ! and the coleslaw tasted like it stayed in the fridge to long and very dry ... and for the service she never came to see after I got my plate to see if I wanted something else or to see if it was good , but when finished my plate then she came over to give me the bill of 23.45 plus tx ... Honestly when you ear only good things about this place well maybe it was just my bad luck !!! When you've been in business that long it would be good to give a better service and actually take care of your customer...
The smoked meat is the very in Montreal it's so tender and delicious. The only thing I can say is that the place could use a huge renovation to update the look. It's kind of run down inside. Same chairs and booths for the last 30years+++. No wheelchair access to the washrooms.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in the Montreal area. A good friend introduced me to this place and the food is fantastic! Prices are reasonable. Great place for dinner and Montreal smoked meat.
Good menu selection for comfort food at a reasonable price. Decent atmosphere. We had nachos and Mac and Cheese bites. Both were good and served hot.
Order is always missing something, meat is overly greasy, bread soggy and french fries soggy..Don't waste your money...
Smoked meats to die for as well as cheesecakes yum!
This is the only place I know where u can get a good old fashioned smoke meat.There are other restaurant that have smoke meat, but none that have the flavor like Chenoys restaurant.Only thing, smoke meat has really become a pricey sandwich. So be prepared to splurge a little on this type of meal.
Chenoy's is the blast from the past we needed. The welcome and service were excellent. The decor has stayed the same, but has not deteriorated. The smoked meat plate with all the trimmings was delicious. The cheese cake was unequaled. The clientele, though 60 and over, seemed contented and well fed. The 'head- banger' music, however, did not fit in. Diners return because it's so good.
If you are really hungry over midnight and dont know where to go , i suggest this place!They open till 3am , it has a nice environment, cozy , and the food is amazing , big portion also.I had TRIO MYKONOS , i usually change the chicken brochette to a chicken breast , also it coms with 2 lamb chops and smoke meat sandwich, coleslaw , one big pickle and a sauce for 30$ .. im satisfied ?
