I was pleasantly surmised by the ambience, big, clean and comfortable.. I got the special, a chicken wrap, and it was loaded with real chicken. The fries were excellent. Just would like to see a less heavy hand with the salt in the soup and chicken salad I had butnfull of flavour

Overall this was an awful experience. We came here because it always seemed busy and after eating here I have no clue as to why it is so busy.We were excited to try this out so we came here on our trip into town. The hostess had a bit of an attitude. People have bad days so we brushed it off. The menus looked like someone used it to wipe their hands with. Okay whatever. We weren't overly thrilled with the menu selection so we decided to do appetizers instead of a main dish. We got the nachos and sweet potatoes. We will start with the sweet potatoes. They had these gross potato chips and some flat bread. The sweet potatoes were very bitter and were nothing like described. The nachos had the gross potato chips and the pulled pork was dry, looked like yesterday's pulled pork, and had a weird taste. They look like they tried to copy Bogside in Montague nachos and failed miserably.Oh yeah and we only saw our server twice. That was fun. Overall an awful experience. We won't be back to try it again to see if it has improved. Not worth the money. Not worth the time. I would prefer to forget this experience but as I write this I am experiencing gastrointestinal discomfort so I am sure my body won't let me forget.

We had very a very friendly server, Kirsten. She made great recommendations and we all enjoyed our drinks and meals. The sticky date pudding bites are to die for!!! Best I've ever had. The steak sandwich was perfection and the Cajun chicken pasta was a great take home dish for hubby.

I went a few months ago and the service was still slow - but I was pleasantly surprised at how much quicker service has picked up!As usual the staff were helpful and friendly, service was prompt, and the food was deliscious!! Portion sizes are generous; the nachos were shared and there was more than enough food for us both! The atmosphere is an unusual blend of industrial-meets-pub (although it works!), and the staff really do create a fun environment for enjoying a meal with friends!

Ordered takeout and got the Surf ‘n Turf. The scallops were good (although a tad on the dry side), but my main draw to for the order was the steak which I ordered rare, but it came much closer to a blue rare, and it appears as though I was given gravy instead of the demi. I would have given it a four star if this was a dine-in experience as mistakes do happen and it could have easily been corrected, but once you’re home with the meal there is literally nothing you can do about it, so it kind of ruins the experience that much more.

The sun shines through the blinds so there's a bright light in your face from some tables. The ceiling or really high with no sound dampening so it's very loud and hard to hear your tablemates. The food is no better or not worse then anywhere else around town.

I wanted to love this place but I have a few suggestions:1. As an oyster bar, oysters should be available to purchase individually. Why can you only purchase by the dozen?2. Also the baked oysters, should be available to purchase individually too. I've never seen this at any other restaurant3. Ruby social is fan favorite-would suggest including in your taps!

We tried The Local for the first time today and I'm impressed! The staff were very friendly. The overall atmosphere is great; very spacious and bright. And the food was amazing! At first I thought it might be a little on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth it for the food.I had the burger and fries. It tasted fresh and was nice and hot. The portion size was perfect and it tasted great. One of my new favorite places to get a burger. My dad had the clam strips. Honestly, he wasn't that impressed. There wasn't too many on the plate and they were all quite small. He also wasn't a fan of the batter. Next time he will choose something else.My mom chose the classic breakfast off the brunch menu. It was huge! She enjoyed everything, especially the hashbrowns. My grandmother got the one-piece fish and chips. The fish was large and very filling. She loves fish and chips and she really enjoyed it from The Local.None of us opted to get desert because we were all so stuffed, but the table next to us did. I've got to say, the crème brûlée looks very good.We will definitely be back to The Local sometime soon, and I highly recommend!

Best burger I’ve had in months! Great atmosphere, and fast service. Best local beer selection! Love having a good local option on this side of town. Highly recommend! Hope to be a regular at this spot!

service was well, our order was misplaced which was not a problem at all until it took an hour or so to arrive. other than that, the food was exceptional!
